There are various exchanges that can take steem as deposit, but each one handles differently.
In most cases after deposit to exchange, you will be using Steem:BTC trading pair.
After you have BTC, you can trade for other crypto that is easier to transfer such as litecoin.
Then find something available in your country that allows convert into 'normal' money.

There are also options like this becoming more common:

In most cases, it's a debit or credit card that leverages crypto instead of anything else.
For smaller amounts all of this is quite an ordeal, but most of that is learning curve.
