void magic will have a graphical impact in v0.54.
it needs adjustment, as it currently creates riddles.

one of these units belongs to white team.
tell me which one it is, and how you can tell.

If you're playing as white, then the one on the right is yours as the danger markings are on it. Seeing as the ai gets a little buggy when playing as white that's prob the answer.
However the one on the left is lighter in colour than the one on the right as the one on the right is missing the normal fade on pieces. And the red glow on the right one is different from normal.

So my answer is either it’s a trick question, you wouldn’t let an effect mess with telling black from white and they are both black.
Or if one of them is actually meant to be white, it’s the one on the right.

EndlessFire has a good explanation with the threat squares, but it's not perfect. "If you're playing as white", while it is probably almost certain you are playing as white in a test area, technically you could be playing as black. So I put the two units in the game to compare and make a table:

I think it is obvious that the black RoyalGuard has a much more pronounced 'glow' effect in the middle of the shield. That is retained on the left unit here, but not on the right one. If you assume the colors were equally dropped on the right one, that one is White's.

Yeah that is the fade I mentioned, but also the glow, look at the hilt and edges.

Yeah the color dropping overall rather then everywhere except the center makes it more easier to tell the difference

tough the one on the left was white but then i used paint to compare side by side, rbg to rbg etc a black royal guard with the one on the left and they are nearly identical ,same rbg everything. So right one is white.
Btw, I like how the background is used to create confusion

The left unit looks lighter than the current ingame RG+++, also the inner light glow makes me think dark overlay instead of black team

I think the right one is the white voided unit, because thematicaly dark gray/"black" is a dark colour, but VOID is always the darkest. (Some have commented answers from a logic pov so I see fitting a comment with a thematically coherent answer).

" it needs adjustment, as it currently creates riddles."
This sentence implies that the question is a riddle. Therefore, there is some trick that makes it not just 1 white/1 black. This --stupid-- theory is supported by the line person with the "best" answer gets something, which implies there is no single correct answer, or at least the answer isn't right/left.

The only claim the post really makes is that " one of these units belongs to white team." and "void magic will have a graphical impact" that "needs adjustment". Perhaps, then, the graphical impact adjusts automatically, based on, for example, the backdrop - voided units are colored differently based on both black and white squares. The only logical conclusion is that both pieces are white.

The White RoyalGuard+++ is the one on the left, because it has lighter colors. I used Paint to double-check: the color of the shield inside the star is rbg(118, 118, 118) for the left unit and rgb(88, 89, 89) for the right unit.

I dunno how CEO draws the pieces it uses, but if it's at all dynamic maybe you could have the border of the piece gently glow gray (at approx rgb(140, 140, 140) for a voided piece?

The one on the left belongs to the white team because he plays in an intramural lacrosse team on his days off while the one on the right was sensible enough to not join the first team that recruits you on the collegiate rush day.

Right is the white one.
The shading varies more on the left(black) one, while the voided right(white) one has much less shading.
You can see a huge lack of shading on the shield and sword (especially the hilt) of the one on the right, its taking less effect from the red +tier glow, because its soul is stripped from it.

The attack squares mentioned below are also a hint, however this could be done in test arena, thus making that hint... NULL AND VOID HAHAHA

One possible way to allow for "void" is just invert the +tier glow, or give it a black/white glow if its base tier (Red glow would be greenish, orange to blue, purple to yellow)

The trick question theory also exists, maybe the one on the right is just voided black and you're lying to us... if that is the case my answer (which is correct in both cases) is
"The piece on the right is voided"
