🍃 Closure of Revelation ::-
As for how many days the revelation was closed, in this regard, Ibn Sa'd has quoted a tradition from Ibn Abbas, the meaning of which is that this closure was for a few days, and after looking at all the aspects, this is what it is. The thing seems to be rather certain and what is known that the closure of the revelation lasted for three years or two and a half years is definitely not true. However, there is no room for argument here.
During this period of cessation of revelation, the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sad and filled with wonder and amazement.
So Sahih Bukhari has a hadith in Kitab al-Tabeer that:-
"The revelation stopped, which made the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of God be upon him, so sad that many times he went to the top of a high mountain to roll down, but when he reached the top of a mountain to roll himself down, Hazrat Jibraeel (peace be upon him) would appear and say: O Muhammad, peace be upon him! You are the true Messenger of Allah. Nafs would have been declared and he (PBUH) would have returned.
Then, when the closure of the revelation on him (peace be upon him) was prolonged, he (peace be upon him) would go out again with the same work, but when he reached the top of the mountain, then Hazrat Gabriel (peace be upon him) would appear and repeat the same thing.
🍃 Gabriel brings revelation again ::-
Hafiz Ibn Hajar says that this (stopping of the revelation for a few days) was so that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would leave and look forward to the coming of the revelation again.
So, when the shadows of surprise shrunk, the impressions of reality became firm and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) realized that he had become the Prophet of Allah.
