I am @akbarmia
From Bangladesh
I am a Bangladeshi, many festivals are celebrated in our country. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, etc., live in our country, so there are many festivals. Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, Shabba-e-Barat, Muharram etc. for Muslims. Durga Puja, Swarsati Puja, Kali Puja etc. by Hindus. Christmas is the biggest festival of the Christian community. Buddhist full moon for Buddhists. As a Bangladeshi nation, Pahela Baishakh, Mother Language Day on 21st February, Independence Day on 26th March, Victory Day on 16th December etc. Also, different communities celebrate different festivals in their way.
My favourite festival: I am a child of a Muslim family, so my favourite Muslim festivals are. The most favourite festival among Muslim festivals is Eid for me. We celebrate two Eids in a year, namely Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha.
Why Favorite: Two of the biggest festivals in our Muslim community are Eid. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated at the end of fasting after a month of fasting or Eid-ul-Azha. It is associated with religious sentiments for Muslims. Eid especially brings spiritual peace and contentment through offering Eid prayers, reciting the Qur'an, and expressing gratitude to Allah. Avoiding all activities, family gatherings are held during the festival of Eid. Exchanging gifts to each other gives a different feeling. At that time everyone cooks good food and invites each other to eat. Giving good food to the poor and giving charity. Eid is not only a religious event but also a social festival. Spending time with friends, neighbours and relatives, funny stories, and various social activities make Eid a favourite.
I live in the city for my work life, so I don't go to the village house all the time. But every Eid, you should go home with your mother and father to share the joy of Eid with all the relatives. Last Eid I celebrated Eid with my family. I invite all our close friends and relatives and I also go to their house. I chat with the whole family and share happy and sad stories. Another beautiful moment was going for a bike ride with friends on the streets of Nikli Haor in Kishoreganj during Eid; it was a very happy day. If not for Eid, we friends could not be together. Eid time is very beautiful and happy for us.
I invited @nurnobi10, @azit1980, and @mahadisalim to participate in the beautiful contest.
I guess, this festival marks the end of Ramadan.. I see my Muslim friends around me celebrating with immense joy!
