One moment that almost turned into an embarrassing moment for me and my friends was when we decided after our afternoon class that we should go somewhere to eat because we were all very hungry. There was a restaurant near our university, so we thought since it's close, let's go there. When we reached, we found out that it had permanently closed. Then we didn’t know where to go, so we opened Google Maps and found another place. We went there, only to find out it was a small shop with no seating area.
Then one of our friends recommended a restaurant he knew, saying he had been there 3–4 years ago, and it was good. We said okay, let’s go there. When we arrived, we realized it was quite an expensive restaurant it looked fancy just from the outside. All of us looked at each other and started thinking about what to do. If the bill turned out to be too much, we'd be in trouble. Our friend reassured us, saying, "No, no, it’s not that expensive." So, trusting him, we went inside and sat down.
When we saw the menu, we all got worried—it was really expensive! And we had just come there randomly without much planning. We couldn’t just walk out as it would have been embarrassing, so we decided to order something small since we were really hungry. First, we counted how much money we all had combined, and then we placed our order accordingly.
We all chipped in a little to pay the bill. We had already decided that if the money fell short, we would wash dishes, but thankfully, it didn’t come to that. After coming out, we scolded our friend a lot, telling him never to take us somewhere random like that again.
We joked around a lot as well, planning all the things we would do if we didn’t have enough money to pay the bill. So, what could have been an embarrassing moment turned into a funny one that we’ll always remember :-)
