Hello friends,I hope we are all doing well. I would like to talk about unprotected sex. I know it may sound uncomfortable but I think it's a topic that have been swept under the carpet for a long time and trust me, it's crucial to understand the risks involved.

Do you know that when we have unprotected sex,we are not just risking an unplanned pregnancy which is also a big deal,we are actually exposing ourselves to some serious health conditions such as Sexually transmitted infections(STIs), and they are not things you should play with as they are dangerous.

Now most of the common sexually transmitted infections include,HIV, gonorrhea, Chlamydia etc. The worst aspect of these infections is that it can cause some serious symptoms, ranging from painful urination to fatigue. And if they are left untreated,it can lead to a long term damage such as, blindness, infertility and most times death.

Another thing to note is that many STIs don't really show symptoms at all as a person might be infected but wouldn't know. Which is why you need to get a regular check-up especially those involved in having unprotected sex. I know most people will be saying they are faithful as they don't have multiply sex partners,so I am safe,but unfortunately, it's not always the case. It could be that your partner has it and might not know or they may be having an unprotected sex with someone who has it.

There's always a way out, what can you do to protect yourself? First thing first,if you must have sex, use protection,as condoms are highly effective in preventing sexually transmitted infections. Secondly,you can get vaccinated against certain STIs and lastly, remember that communication is key. Do well to talk to your partner about your sexual history and also make sure that both of you are on the same page.
