Today is Sunday, not a god day for me .I really don't like family time. I hate the fact that every one is at home on Sundays and this pisses me off.
I don't really like the term "Family Time" . The term is a waste of words for me.
On Sundays my family is at home. My mother always try to make something super yummy on weekends especially on Sundays.
My family is here, so my mother decided to make pulao. A Pakistani well known and a delicious dish which resembles a lot like biriyani.
I mean it is of course different in taste but the making process and procedure is almost same.
I decided to help my mom in making pulao. She told me that she was fine and doesn't really needed any of our helps but I insisted and told her that i was bored and needed to do something.
Any ways, she agree after I starting helping her .Brought her dishes she told me and cut some potatoes for her while she washed the chicken pieces nicely.
She was making curry to later mix with the boiled rice. I helped her boil some rice. It is a difficult process. the water is super hot ,and that time when u drain the rice from the water it is a separate challenge.
My mother used a lot spices i don't even know the names but it was a packed of Shan masala it says Pulao Masala and it is perfect for making pulao.
She added potatoes and chicken pieces that she cleaned . After that she mixed the curry solution and finally she added coriander on top for taste.
After, she was done with the curry and boiled rice she added the two prepared foods together.
She carefully put some curry on a separate steel pan and then she filled the upper layer with some rice and then again she poured the curry up with potatoes and chicken then coated it with rice. She did the process in a loop until the two foods were finished.
The main reason of doing this process like this coating curry then rice is because once the rice are made and you are plating the dish out. Each rice have the curry taste on it and that the rice are made saucey and nice giving taste at each bite.
She added coriander on top of the rice and some grilled onions for taste and topping.
Once, she styled the pan with curry and rice , she give the pan a 5 to 10 min of break .
Break means she put a cloth and sealed pack the pan so that the vapors doesn't come out and that the rice and the curry can get some time to blend in together tight.
I love each and every process of it .I enjoyed it more while eating. As soon as the rice were tight up for 10 min straight. My mom removed the pan head or cap from the pan and an entire storm of vapors were coming out from it.
That was the time i knew that the food is made good to go and I asked my mom to give me a plate of rice hot .
i enjoyed eating it more over i enjoyed the process of it making.
