How to Start a Perfect Day vs. How I Actually Start Mine

Mornings are the foundation of our day, and a well-planned routine can set the right tone. Ideally, a perfect morning begins with waking up early, followed by stretching or light exercise to energize the body. Many successful people swear by morning meditation, journaling, or reading to clear their minds and prepare for the day. A healthy breakfast, packed with proteins and nutrients, fuels both the body and brain. Lastly, planning the day ahead, setting goals, and getting an early start on work or studies ensures maximum productivity.

However, reality often looks quite different. My mornings usually begin with hitting the snooze button a couple of times before finally dragging myself out of bed. Instead of stretching or exercising, I opt for my ultimate morning fix—chai! It’s a must-have before I can even think about starting my day. While others might dive into meditation or goal-setting, I usually check my phone, catching up on messages or scrolling through updates before getting into the real work. My breakfast depends on my mood, sometimes a proper meal and other times just a quick bite if I’m running late.

Despite my somewhat chaotic start, my day eventually picks up pace as I dive into my studies and tech projects. As a software engineering student, I enjoy coding, exploring new programming languages, and working on innovative ideas. When I’m not buried in coursework, I love photography—especially capturing sky views and delicious food. My day isn’t just about work; I also enjoy spending time with my loved ones, sharing a good meal, and indulging in my all-time favorite: biryani!

In an ideal world, I’d follow a more structured morning routine, incorporating exercise, a tech-free start, and mindful planning. But for now, my chai-fueled mornings, mixed with a touch of last-minute rushing, work just fine. While I might not always start my day perfectly, I make sure to enjoy the little things—good food, great company, and exciting tech projects—all of which make my day worthwhile.
