An Incident That Changed My Perspective on Life || 10% Beneficiary Set to @steem-nations

Today, I will share an incident that made my mind stop working instantly. For a moment, I kept thinking, is this all that life is? Life is so unpredictable that a person can’t even imagine what will happen to them, where, and when. All the planning remains as it is, and everything one thinks about just becomes a thought and ends with it. I’ll just briefly explain what happened because recalling everything will make me sad again.

What happened was that my father’s friend and his family, which included a husband, wife, and their three grown children—two daughters and a son—had gone to the sea. My father received a call from his friend saying that his children had drowned in the sea. I knew their family, and I had spoken to his daughter, so I felt shocked. At first, I couldn’t believe it. Then, as my father left for the sea, it was time for Maghrib prayers, so I spread my prayer mat and started praying that everything would be okay. But fate had something else planned, and their three children could not be saved. That news hit me like a bolt of lightning. Although I didn’t have any blood relation with them, they say you don’t need a blood relation to understand someone’s grief.

That night, I didn’t eat or drink anything. I was in shock, and the only thought in my mind was, is this all life is? Did they leave their house thinking they wouldn’t return alive? I started putting myself in their place, imagining how I, too, have no idea when death might come for me. After that incident, I kept wondering if I had prepared for the afterlife. If something were to happen to me suddenly, what would happen to all my plans? Will everything remain incomplete just like that?

That night, I couldn’t sleep, and whenever I did, I would wake up with a start. My mind was overwhelmed, and it felt like it had stopped working. That one incident taught me a lot and made me realize that while it’s good to plan for the future, it’s more important to focus on the present—because what if tomorrow never comes? And especially, we shouldn’t stop our lives because of past events or incidents. We should always hope for the best, treat others kindly, and pray for good.

They say this world is a dream, and when this dream ends, the reality will be terrifying. That’s why we need to prepare for that reality now.

Hi Fiza. What a sad and heartbreaking news! However, I agree with you. In the 1st Kungfu Panda movie, there was a dialogue by Master Oogway

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.

I believe that. We should prioritize our present over our future.

Thank you for your kind words❤️
