Going to (Nani ) Grandmother's house is the best part of our lives. The excitement and happiness of going there are just different.I still remember when we were kids how excited we used to be to go to nani's house.
but to be honest I used to go there because of the house itself. I always loved my nani's house it was airy minimal and simple just the way I liked it.
Her house had a big yard with a charpai to sit on and an empty ground in front of her house where we had plenty of space to ride our cycle . In the evenings kids would play cricket there For me it was my escape point .
But in my teenage years my nani changed that house and the new one was nothing like the old one. It didn’t hold the same memories or my childhood. I didn’t feel happy in that new house sometimes old things are just more dear to us. Slowly I started visiting my nani's house less because that place was no longer my escape.
And to be honest I don’t even find the time to go there. Now, I only visit on special occasions or festivals. .my uncle now live in our old nani's house but he made it so modern that it is no longer the simple and minimal place it used to be. There is nothing left there that I liked from before. But a feel of nostalgic will always be inside me . I wish I had a camera or mobile phone back in my childhood so I could have captured pictures of that house, but now it only lives in my memories.
but now I only go there to meet my grandma, spend time talking to her and then I return home .
last week I went to visit my grandma and coincidentally my cousins come too . we had a meetup after a long time Then they suggested Lets make some bread rolls and we all are like why not
Here’s a small recipe for making these rolls
for the Chicken Marinate
- Chicken
- Garlic and ginger paste
- Yogurt
- Tikka masala packet
- Black pepper
- salt
- Chili flakes
- Lemon juice OR vinegar
- Soy sauce
- A little bit of yellow food color
While the chicken is marinating, take some bread, cut off the hard sides, and flatten it slightly with a rolling pin
then cook the marinated chicken make sure it’s fully cooked. Make sure to reduce the gravy if needed, as excess gravy can make the bread soggy and affect how well the chicken fits in the bread.
Now, shred the cooked chicken and place it on one side of the bread. Add your favorite vegetables and don’t forget the cheese. Roll the bread into a roll shape, coat it with egg and bread crumbs, and deep fry until golden and crispy. Enjoy your hot and delicious bread rolls
They were really crispy and tasty, and we enjoyed them with a cup of hot tea while enjoying the weather of Karachi.
It was a sudden meetup with my cousins and this small day brought back a lot of memories of how we used to plan our meetups. Now, we rarely meet each other .We talked about so many things and time just flew by without us even realizing it. By the end of the day, we all went back to our homes
thats all for today THANKYOU
The rolls loom yumm...
We all love the nostalgic feeling of visiting our grandmother house.
