Showing off a bar today that I got in the before times. Minted in 1982, this bar features an eagle soaring in the sunlight. Mintage is unknown, but they show up fairly regularly on ebay, so they're probably not that rare. They don't get much of a premium, maybe 3-4 over spot.
What really makes me like this particular example, though, is the dark color it's picked up over the years. The back side especially has a rich chocolatey brown color.
If I knew how to make all my keeper bars age like this, I'd do it.
Thanks for sharing, Methus. Sometimes, if one gets these toned beauties, in good lighting, at the right angle, they can see a spectacular rainbow hiding deep. Is that some green and red on the .999 side?

Yep, there's some green, red, and even a bit of gold (color, mot metal).
