Assalamualaikum and Happy new year dear people, as today is 1st Muharram according to the Islamic calender. I pray this year brings alot of happiness and good time into our lives.
I hope everyone is doing alright. I’ve been dealing with coughing since last 3 days but it will get better soon insha Allah.

As today is Tuesday and this day has been selected for giving reviews about different things so I decided to do it too. To be honest this idea of our CRs really amazed me. It's very interesting.

Anyway I was kinda confused at first that what should I really talk about, then I thought why not to start with the instituition/university I'm currently studying in?

So here I am going to give a very honest review of my university 'Muhammad Ali Jinnah' (maju) where I've almost completed the whole year or 2 semesters.

One year ago, I was very worried while selecting college for my graduation. The field I wanted to get admission in was available in University of Karachi, Bahria University, Iqra University (North campus), federal urdu science University and 2 more in karachi. So I was literally jumbled.

I prayed nafil e istekhara 5 to 6 nights so that Allah will make my mind to go with what's best for me.
The hurdles that was shown to me maybe by Allah after my istekhara were, Iqra university where my mamu wanted me to go in was too much far from my house. And it would make me too much tired everyday ; The admissions of Bahria university were closed at that time. And I had been feeling homesick due to the first lockdown which was so long so couldn't wait anymore ; The university of Karachi, I had already visited two times from my college due to sports activities so I've seen it's condition and after getting reviews from my cousins I'm very thankful to Allah that I didn't go there.
After some days a girl from my college called and told me that she visited maju and really liked the environment. She also asked the students about the education system and got really good reviews.

So just like this with the name of Allah and after so much thinking I got admission in Maju. I had given the test prior. So only the interview was left.
Finally interview went so well. The behaviour of teachers in the interview gave me good motivation and satisfaction.

(Maybe I've gone out of the context but it's the time every student goes through, so it can be helpful).

Now as I've been studying there since a year, I can tell you about different things of maju. And I would be very honest.

Education system

For me, the education system is very good. Like I've understood each and every topic until now.
They take quizzes, give assignments and projects. Practical work is really appreciated there.
There are class presentations oftenly which gives us the confidence and experience.
There's kind of strictness. If we have more than six absences in any of the courses, we can't give the final paper. And if we are more than 10 minutes late, we'll be allowed to enter the classroom but marked as absent.

They provide merit and need based scholarships for students who get good marks and who cannot afford.

Teachers

The teachers of maju are actually very supportive. They teach so well. Yes there are some teachers whose teaching style is not liked by every student but we are allowed to ask for help again and again.
Its a rule that all the teachers come to class on time and cannot leave before the class ends.
Most of the teachers are very balanced. They donot show aggression and try to remain calm.
If we have any query about our marks or anything, we can mail them and the other day they call us to their office and listen to our point of view carefully. My cousin who studies in Karachi University told me that teachers donot listen to them. They just give tests and things according to their mood. And once marks have been given, they can't be changed.
So I'm greateful that all the teacher I've gotten until now are of very understanding nature.

One teacher gave these chocolates to the whole class at the end of the semester. That was so sweet of her.

Class Strength

The best thing about maju is they don't keep more than 40 students in a class. They divide the class into sections if there are good number of students. Unlike Iqra and other universities where there are alot of students in one class. One of our teachers told us that he used to teach in Iqra university and there were more than 100 students in a class of Pakistan studies and that's why it's very difficult to keep an eye on each and every student.
So here it's easier for teachers to watch, ask questions and make things understand to all the students.

Facilities

There are all the needed facilities available in every block or department. There are libraries with over 8000 copies of books and references, cafeterias with yummy things, food court, girls common rooms, place for namaz for boys and girls, ground for sport activities, canopy, computer labs, auditoriums etc and most of the places are air conditioned.

Environment

The environment of our university I'd say is very stable. Everything is allowed but in a very balanced and limited way.

Activities and tours

The university gives a wide opportunity to show our talent by organizing different activities. There are number of societies doing their work and ask us to participate every week or month.
For example talent shows, welcome parties for mew batches, various competitions, mental health programs, different programs for people awareness, games etc.

Our university also organizes good number of picnics. They usually take students to Turtle beach and dream world resort and also provide good services.
They also take students to Pakistan tour every year. Two of my classmates just came back from a tour and they really enjoyed it. I wasn't allowed to go😃
They even organise a tour of Turkey everyyear which is so good for those who can go.

Online classes

Due to the lockdown of covid 19 pendamic, we have been given proper online classes unlike other Government universities.

Some negative points

  1. There's no personal class for us. Means we are not allowed to sit in the classroom after our class ends. We need to leave the room immediately.
  2. There's no lift in our university.
  3. There's no gym.

Conclusion

Now alhmdulillah I'm very satisfied and thankful to Allah that he guided me with the best. And now I'm studying here.

Rating

9/10 because nothing is perfect😂..

These were the things I could think of. I hope it is helpful.
I've never praised my school or college because I didn't like them. This time what I said about my University is 100 percent true for me.
Thankyou.
