The battle of the trench is known as Ghazwa-e-khandaq or called ghazwa-e-ahzaab, the war was between Muslims of Madina and the Jewish tribes, non-Muslims were ten thousand in number(10,000) and Muslims were three thousand(3000), Non-Muslims were different tribes came together in groups(Ahzaab)to fight with Muslims, the idea was to come together as a group against Muslims of Madina and (Nauzbillah) eliminating the messenger of Muslims Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and Muslims of Madina at once, Muslims were aware of the plans of jews, so they hit a plan to dig a trench (khandaq) from the open side of Madina to stop the jews to enter in Madina.
The trench was 1200 meters in length and 9 meters wide, the idea of digging a trench was given by Hazrat Salman Farsi (R.A) TO Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H), he explained to our dear prophet(P.B.U.H) that in the province of faris which is known as Iran now use to dig the trenches to save themselves from the enemies, so the Muslims dig that trench to save them and resulted in victory for them, So the battle ends this way. Here is the map of the trench.
Here my purpose to write the story is to tell you about the seven mosques, the story of seven mosques is like that, our holy prophet (P.B.U.H) 3 days prayed there for the victory of Muslims, so his prayer was fulfilled by ALLAH and Allah sent a windstorm, in that storm the tents of Jewish army behind jabl-e-uhad (mountain of uhad) were uprooted, their food and water blown away in wind, Abu Sufyan was the commander of Quraish army decided to leave, the Muslims declared victory, So during digging the trench when it was time to prayer our holy prophet ordered to offer prayer where the Muslims were standing, no need to leave their places, so there were seven places where different companions offer prayer, that seven places were later built as mosques in their memories.
I have explained to you a summary of the trench, if I make a mistake in explaining may ALLAH forgive me.
This is the mosque by the name of our prophet (P.B.U.H), as said that Muslims of the group of our holy prophet (P.B.U.H) offer prayer with him here.
Before it was two mosques, this one mosque is built by Arabs, now when travelers came to visit this place offer their prayer here in this mosque.
My Visit And Experience
I visited this place two years ago, I can't tell you the feeling when a Muslim visit these holy places, I saw all seven mosques, I saw the trench, it's not a trench now all the place is equaled, here I'm sharing this last picture is my memory, here I catch a little kitten, I don't know how but the kitten was not afraid when I catch him, here my husband took my picture, so now when he again visited this place on eid, he took picture of this place and asked me that do I remember this place where I catch a kitten, so sweet memory here.
