hey! steem peeps hope y'all doing great

I started my day with the name of ALLAH and then went for a morning walk. When I came back home there was a message waiting for me from the project manager that we have a new client and we have to make a logo for their company. The company is Lahore based and they deal in steel and they go by the name

"METAL EDGE"

Well, this isn't the only logo I made. I made 4 logos with 6 different color combinations and then finally this one got accepted.

Logo Design Process

  1. Research and design brief
when it comes to the logo it is basically the first thing someone or maybe your potential client gonna see about your company so it's very crucial to do some research on what the company is selling and what is there target audience is.

  2. Inspiration
For this, you gotta google a lot about what other companies in that niche have made. so you have to take some inspiration as well as you need to make something new to stand out from what is already has been done. So I did my research and made 4 logos

  3. Make multiple options
You never know what they gonna like. The one I liked the most got rejected and the one I thought is a bit stupid they liked it. But later they changed their mind. They firstly liked the No. 8 I thought the one I made Late night in the second picture is the best logo but eventually, their team agreed on No.1 but with different color combinations.

These are three logos I made initially and then I made this one

I made this logo around 3 o'clock at night and I was like this is it. It's the best logo one can make but this one got rejected and my heart shattered into pieces. I even wrote down the whole design brief about why I made this. firstly, it had a different color
Here is what I made initially

But the project manager asked me to give color options so I put in some and here is the design brief I wrote about the logo

Revision of the design
This is an important part where you communicate with clients and figure out what they really want. So after talking to them we came to the conclusion and did some more research and came up with 4 colors

Red as it represents hot steel
Orange as it represents molten steel
Grey as it represents cooling down
Black as it represents the final product

So I put all these colors in the logo in a manner where orange turns into red very subtly and grey to black.

And that's how the final logo was made you just saw it in the first picture.

Well Expectations really hurt sometimes and this is the reality of life that we expect a lot about what is gonna happen? how will it happen? etc. I mean you putted a lot of efforts to made that logo which is looking so perfect and you expected that your client is gonna love it but they didn't which broke your heart. Nice post and best of luck for your next project.
