Hi there, welcome to my blog! Today, I'm performing another wonderful contest in the Steemit Pakistan community titled Defend the statements. In this contest, I would be supporting three statements that have been given by the moderators of the community. Have a nice time.
VOTES ARE NOT GUARANTEED FROM SC01
This is a very valid statement and I would explain why?
In Steemit we make content in the form of writing and we get upvotes from it. The upvotes as it were are from the other users who engage our post and 'like' them as it is something that they align with. But sometimes we don't get to see the kind of upvote that
we expect.
Worst still is when we go over the Steemit platform and we begin to see other posts with big upvotes, we begin to feel that we too should be getting the upvotes like such people.
The way I see it is that we should just keep on making our posts every blessed day and not just make posts but also engage with other posts in a meaningful way. This is one of the main purposes of Steemit, a social platform where users can engage with each other and make some earnings.
But we should also consider other things like making high-quality posts, following the necessary rules given, and any other thing that is put in place so that outpost can stand out.
There are so many members on the Steemit platform and it can be difficult at times to curate all the posts at the same time so your post has to fulfill the basic requirements for your post to be given attention.
Another thing to consider is that getting upvotes from the curation accounts is not a given, it is something that is earned. And for any user to earn it, they have to pay the price.
PUNISHMENT NEVER HAS A GOOD EFFECT
According to Wikipedia,
Punishment, commonly, is the imposition of an undesirable or unpleasant outcome upon a group or individual, meted out by an authority—in contexts ranging from child discipline to criminal law—as a response and deterrent to a particular action or behavior that is deemed undesirable or unacceptable. Wikipedia
From the explanation above we can see that punishment is undesirable or unpleasant. This translates to punishment not being a favorable way of curbing wrongdoings to anyone, be it a child or a full-grown adult.
Back in secondary school, there were a set of boys and girls that were seen as the 'bad' boys and girls. these sets of individuals usually get into trouble with the authority of the school and they end up getting punished. But what I noticed was that rather than getting corrections for their wrongdoings through the punishment, they kept on getting into trouble, and the authorities later came to know them as troublesome students.
Another thing I also noticed about punishment is armed robbers and hardened criminals. these sets of individuals are always on the wrong side of the law. As such they have been to the police station countless times but still come back to society to create a menace. It is so bad that some have become known as criminals and people in their communities become cautious about them.
I think that giving punishment, especially one of hard force is not the best way to deal with wrongdoers as it would only make them stronger in the wrong act. Because once they go through the process of the hard punishment and come out of it, it makes them believe that nothing else can make them change.
One of the best ways to change this way of dealing with wrongdoers is by setting up a means of correction. Through this means the wrongdoer should be made to know that what was done is wrong and doesn't bring any good benefits.
A WOMAN'S PLACE IS IN THE KITCHEN
This is a statement that has a very strong debate, especially in recent times when our men have begun to start cooking for themselves. The thing is this is a phenomenon that separates men and women.
From time memorial, women have been the gender to get into the kitchen and prepare food that their men would eat after the day's hustle and bustle. It doesn't make sense that a man who has a woman in the house would go out to hustle and bustle, then still come back home to prepare food to eat.
Again when the man gets back from work, he gets really tired and just wants to eat and sometimes sleep. If he's the type that is always on his work, then he just wants to eat and continue his work. You don't expect the man to get back home and still think of preparing food to eat. Even when they are single, most time they go to eateries to eat or they depend on their female friends to help them with food.
There's a slogan "The kitchen is the woman's office". This means that everything about the kitchen is the woman's and this is more than just cooking. It encompasses all the kitchen utensils, other components of the kitchen, and the management of the kitchen. A man wouldn't be too stressed to think of trying to handle the activities of the kitchen especially when there is a woman around.

Indeed, physical punishment is not good and should only be used on rare occasions. Other forms of punishment should always be considered before force, and leave this as the last option. While the woman always cooking, is a very old traditional figure, almost obsolete that is only maintained in some countries by their culture or religion. I think the burden should be shared in some way.
