Covid19 had an impact on all of our lives and one of the negative impacts it had on our lives was the massive increase in the use of gadgets and screen time in the children.
Although there are some good apps on the internet that really help the child in learning and are very informative as well but as it's said
"Excess of everything is bad " Similarly the excessive screen time is also detrimental to the mental and physical health of everyone especially the children. It causes obesity, sleep problems and a lot of other physical and mental health issues.
I started noticing that my child's screen time was increasing day by day and he would fix his eyes on the phone and TV's screen for hours. It started making me worried so much that I decided to find some activities to keep him occupied.
What our kids watch has a direct effect on their brains and behavior so it's very important to monitor what they're watching on the screens. I usually avoid giving phone to my kid when I'm not around. In the modern world it's nearly impossible to keep our kids away from the technology. On one hand if this technology has made things easy for us, then on the other hand it is one of the causes of the increasing physical and mental health issues.
There are so many educational toys available in the market. I've purchased a few of them for my son and he loves playing with them and learns from them too. It's a good way to keep him distracted from screen time.
Help your children find the hobby they love by making them participate in different extracurricular activities. I try to take some time out and take my child to the park every other day so that he interacts with other kids which is very important for growth and a healthy mind, take him for swimming, games and do art activities with him.
These are few healthy activities that keep my child engaged and keep him away from excessive screen time.
