Assalamualaikum everyone hope you all are doing well in your respected lives I and Ameer Hamza is perfectly fine this is @saharsaqi your very active member of STEEMIT PAKISTAN community This is my participation post for the contest Historical Event organized by @papi.mati

I consent to the publication and distribution of my article in the electronic and paper versions of "Steemit Weekly"and in all social media."
So this time I found the contest very difficult for me because my I am always week in history 😂 I don't know much about any historical events in detail. Neither any political nor any war event so I had to study more for this contest. After alot of searching process I chose the Topic THE FALL OF BERLIN WALL and I found difficulty to search and collect data or information but still I tried my level best to cover this topic more gracefully.

SYMBOLIC SCENE OF THE HISTORY: THE FALL OF BERLIN WALL

What is Berlin Wall?
The German Democratic Republic built the Berlin Wall during the Cold War to prevent its residents from escaping Soviet-controlled East Berlin to West Berlin. This wall was a divider of Berlin city into different zones. The wall was built in 1961 because East Berlin was haemorrhaging people to the West.
Before the wall had built, the residents of Berlin city on both sides could move around easily and freely. They crossed the border to work, to shop, to go to the theater and the movies. Trains and subway lines carried passengers back and forth. After the wall was built, it become unfeasible to get from East to West

Purpose
The main purpose of the Wall was to prevent East Germans from fleeing, stopping an economically migration of workers. When the Second World War end, Germany was divided into four zones of occupation United States, Britain, France and the Soviet UnionGermany now became a focus of Cold War politics and as divisions between East and West became more expressed, so too did the division of Germany
The Agreement was made between the major winners of second World War (US, UK, and USSR) on 1st August 1945, in which Germany was separated into spheres of influence during the Cold War between Eastern and Western

Escaping of people
About 5,000 people from the East Germans managed to cross the Berlin Wall and reached West Berlin safely, while on the other hand 5,000 were captured and more than 191 were killed during the crossing of the wall. Many Germans, who were mainly women and children were extremely mistreated before they were deported to Germany. Thousands died in forced labor camps such as Lambinowice, Zgoda labour camp, Central Labour Camp Potulice, Central Labour Camp Jaworzno, Glaz, Milecin, Gronowo, and Sikawa. Some starved, died of disease, or froze to death while being expelled in slow and ill-equipped trains or in transit camps.

In 1989, political changes occurred in Eastern Europe and Germany put pressure on the East German government to loose some of its rules and regulations on travel to West Germany. At same year on 9th November , during press conference East German's spokesman Gunter Schabowski clearly announced that East Germans are free to travel into West Germany, but he failed to clarify that some regulations would remain in place as same as that was.
After 5-days half million people gathered in East Berlin to show a mass protest, that the Berlin Wall between East Germany from West Germany would be collapse. To this day, the Berlin Wall remains one of the most powerful and long lasting symbol of the Cold War
East German leaders had tried to calm mounting protest because they had not planned to open the border completely, but the way they delivered the words had major consequences.
In fact it had been planned to start the next day, with details on applying for a visa, but Media played the major role to spreading the news all over television and East Germans gathered to the border in huge numbers.
Western media inappropriately reported that the border had been opened and crowds quickly gathered at checkpoints on both sides of the Wall. Passport checks were eventually rejected and people crossed the border unrestricted. Citizens of both sides East and West Berlin came together in celebration. The fall of the Berlin Wall was the first step towards German reunification
Thousand of people were celebrating and crying, people climbed the wall at Berlin's Brandenburg gate, chipping away at the wall itself with hammers and pickaxes. A stormy year had reached to it's climax.

Good job! You have chosen very important moment from the history. I was born exactly one month after fall of the Berlin Wall, in nearby Poland. You presented it in a very nice way. I like that all the sources are properly linked and the article looks very esthetic.

Thank you so much 😇
