Ptolemy was a famous Greek astronomer, geographer and mathematician. He was born in the famous Egyptian city of Alexandria. He theorized that the earth is the center of the solar system. His book "Al-Majasti" consisting of thirteen articles on astronomy is very famous. The first two introductory articles describe the basics of astronomy and the methods of mathematics. The third article discusses the length of a year and the movement of the sun. The article is on the length of the fourth month and the rising of the moon. The fifth article describes the diameter of the sun, moon and earth, their other information and the distance of the sun. In it Ptolemy established his own astronomical system which was considered correct for one and a half thousand years. In the scientific world, it is known as the "Ptolemaic system", according to which the earth is stationary and the sun, moon and other planets revolve around it. Another important work of Ptolemy is "Geography of Ptolemy" in eight volumes. According to his knowledge of the time, he made a detailed study of astronomy. However, as science and technology progressed, the research of Pernix, Galileo, and Kepler in Europe disproved this theory.
