Engagement challenge week 3

Greetings everyone and I welcome you all to another day on my blog, today I would be participating in the on going engagement contest organised by the steem team.

This contest promises to be an exciting one as it encourages us to step out of our individual comfort zones and show case our argument skills.

In line with the contest rules I have decided argue in favour of the following points

1. Votes are not guaranteed

2. Punishment is never the answer.

After considering the 5 options given above I feel I better positioned to argue in favour of the following 3 listed above as they are somewhat controversial.

To better understand what this statement means we must first understand how the steemit operates.

We are all aware steemit works based on proof of brain
and what this entails is that reaards are given based in the authors ability or pen down reasonable and well thought of articles.

Going by this logic it therefore makes sense as to why the rule states that votes are not guaranteed, this is done so as to ensure that only those who take time and come up with quality work gets rewarded.

Works which are plagerized or scanty shouldn't be voted as this goes against the proof of brain and doesn't encourage ingenuity.

Another reason why votes are not guaranteed works for the good of steem is because when individuals know that votes are not guaranteed for any post they make it brings about competition and with competition brings about smarter and better quality of post being created in the blog.

Understanding economics we are aware that scarcity creates value hence the limitation of votes increases the value of votes and also the quality of content being created.

For each vote that is given there is a sharp reduction in the percentage of vote given to the next person and so on and so.

Take steemcurator01 for example if he were to vote every post that were published his voting power would diminish his voting power to an extent which would make his vote no longer significant.

As we can see from the image above just a 4% reduction in the voting power would take appropriately 4 hours to fully charge.

This is what would happen if every post were to be guaranteed a vote, the voting power of steem curator 01 would be rendered almost worthless.

Punishment never has a good end

In advanced countries such as the United States of America it is prohibited to lay hands on growing children this is so because of a variety of reasons reasons such as reciprobility of actions taken against children in the future, emotional and mental trauma due to punishment inflicted on children, psychological degredation of a child.

When will subject children to punishment this affects their mental being so much so that they start to fear those who they are supposed to love.

Yes punishment works on the short run but on the long run any child who is constantly punished will grow resistance to such methods and turn against the hand that punish him.

We find situations where by parents beat Thier children and after a while such child becomes immune to pain and go about inflicting the pain which was dealt on him by his care givers.

Rather than punishing children it is better we correct them with love and attention as on the long run children who grow up in a loving environment tend to better understand the consequences of Thier actions.

Going by the laws which recognises that all those below the age of 18 are still children and shouldn't be held responsible for thier actions.

Hence they are laws that state that if a child below the age of 18 commits a crime lmhebor she should not be punished for such crime rather the guidance are responsible as they above failed to bring the child up in an acceptable manner.

Going by this law we can tehre fore state that children shouldn not be punished as they are not the cause of Thier actions they do not know what they are doing they are just the effect of the way their parents and guidance have trained them.

A child should only be punished when it has been conclusively proven that he or she has reached the age of maturing and is responsible for his or her actions other than that the guidance shouldn take responsibility for the wrong doings of such child rather than punishing the child.

Arguments are fundamental learning process in the ever evolution of humanity, the points which were given above are of my opinion, but I employ all those who contest to the points or prpfer meaningful counter arguments as to why they shouldn't be and I in turn will respond.
