Garden Stories, Picking The Beans

Hello, steemies and garden lovers!

It seems that I haven't written a post on steem for about 5 months, pretty much all of garden season. I wanted to start writing here again by writing about my garden from this past summer. For this post, I'm going to write about my green bean harvest.

First, I'd like to show you the green bean plants that I grew this past summer. All of the plants were from Blue Lake bush been seeds. I always seem to have good luck with the Blue Lake green beans, and I like the flavor of them.

These are the plants that I grew in my container garden.

I also grew 2 rows of green beans in part of my raised bed.

The bean plants in the container garden were planted about a week before the plants in the raised bed, so they produced pickable beans first. This was my second harvest, I didn't take any pictures of my first picking. I didn't get a lot of beans at first.

My third picking was a bit more.

After that, I started getting more beans from the plants.

I got quite a bit more than that amount of beans over the 2-3 week picking period. I had to start canning the beans after picking these, and the canning of beans continued for the next couple of weeks along with the picking. I'll cover that in my next post.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my post, I hope you found it interesting!
