A TRAVEL TO AKRODWA NO. 2
On the 8th September, 2021. We went for an outreach program at Akrodwa No.2 in the Nkronza north District which is found in the Bono east region of Ghana.
We went there by an organized Bus,

It is mandatory for every Level 200 and 100 students of the University For Development Studies to go for an outreach or a Third Trimester Field Practical program (TTFPP) in their Third Trimester.
They usually divides us in a groups of ten which usually comprises of different faculties and Department in the School.
The Purpose of this program is to promote ongoing research, teaching and learning activities of the university which are designed to meet the developmental needs of the rural communities.
Also, the Purpose of this program is to assist rural people to determine their own problems, to help assist them find desirable solutions and encourage them to act.
This program also help students to develop favorable attitudes towards working in rural communities.
Nkoranza North District is one of the twenty seven Administrative Districts in the Bono East Region of Ghana with Busunya as its capital. It has a total land area of about 2,322 sq kilometres.
The District shares boundaries with Kintampo South to the North, Nkoranza South District to the South, Atebubu Amantin District to the East and Techiman North to the West. Our study area, Akrudwa No.2 is one of the communities in Nkoranza North District.
It shares boundaries with Busunya to the east, Boabeng to the west, Akonkunti to the south and Bonteng to the north. Akrudwa No.2 is one mile (1ml) seven minutes (7m) away from the District capital (Busunya) and lies on between latitude 7o 42m 17s N and longitude 1o 40m 2s W.
Akrudwa no.2 community has a basic school, electricity, mechanized boreholes, five churches, no mosque.
Majority of the houses are mud bricks and a few are block houses roofed with aluminium sheets.
Their main source of livelihood was through Agriculture.
They cultivated crops such as cassava, yam, corn, plantain, groundnut, cashew etc.
The kinds of animals they were rearing include; goats, sheep, fowls, hens, etc.
Their main food was Fufu with palm nuts soup .
But I used to prefer taking fried plantain with beans stew.
We spent almost six weeks there , we enjoyed our stay there because the Community members were calm .
They also showed us love and treated us like their own people by giving us Accomodation and Food items 😍.
We were also greatful for the effort they made.
This was on our Assessment Day.
Most of the Community members weren't happy when we were living but we had no option rather to go back to our various homes and prepare for the next Academic year .
I invite my friends to take part in this wonderful contest @mukadas, @piini123, @imuniru38 and @realib1.
