This contest is to write about seasonal flower in my area. Now it is rainy season in Bangladesh so the best seasonal flower would be rain-lily. I love wild flower and rain lilies are wild flowers. Today I will be writing about rain-lily.

Introduction of Rain-lilies

Rain lilies are members of Amaryllidaceae family.
The local names of this flower are Vui chapa, Piyaj Ful and many more.
There are mainly three types of rain lily in our country. It is identified by its colour. There are three colour rain lily available in nature but now-a-days we can see some more colour of this flower which is possible by the process of hybridization.

Flowerning season : July to October

Pink colour rain lily:

Zephyranthes rosea, commonly known as the Cuban zephyrlily, rosy rain lily, rose fairy lily, rose zephyr lily or the pink rain lily, is a species of rain lily native to Peru and Colombia.

White colour rain lily

The scientific name of white colour rain lily is Zephyranthes candida.This species is native to South America including Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil.

Yellow colour rain lily

The scientific name of yellow colour rain lily is Zephyranthes citrina. These kind of flowers are native to Mexico.

They are called or well known as rain lily flower beacuse these flowers are bloom after heavy rain.
Fun fact of this flower pant is if you can stock rain drops for year and use that water during all year then you may get rain lily all year round.

You don't need to much take care of this plant. All you have to do is trim the plant.
