From the beginning of the thirteenth century to the end of the thirteenth century, the Mongols carried out horrific massacres in China, Siberia, the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, Central and North Asia, Anatolia, Crimea, Russia, Poland, Wallachia, Transylvania, Bulgaria and Hungary. Its biggest blow came to the Muslim community in Central and North Asia, which has been slowly evolving over the last six hundred years. In just two decades, hundreds of cities in the region have been reduced to dust and turned into a haunted land. At that time, about one to one and a half crore people in the region were killed and hundreds of pyramids were built by the Mongols soldiers with Muslims severed heads. How did Allah whom the Muslims considers to be the Creatorof themselves accept such a horrible massacre of Muslims? Why did he not save the Muslim community from the hands of the Mongols? Why didn't any wrath come down from Allah on Mongols?
ত্রয়োদশ শতাব্দীর শুরু থেকে প্রায় শেষ ভাগ পর্যন্ত মঙ্গলীয়রা চীন, সাইবেরিয়া, ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশের উত্তর ভূখন্ড, মধ্য ও উত্তর এশিয়া, আনাতোলিয়া, ক্রিমিয়া, রাশিয়া হয়ে পোল্যান্ড, ওয়ালাসিয়া, ট্রানসিলভানিয়া, বুলগেরিয়া ও হাঙ্গেরিতে যে ভয়ানক হত্যাযজ্ঞ চালিয়েছিল তার সবচেয়ে বড় আঘাত টা গিয়েছিল মধ্য ও উত্তর এশিয়ায় গত প্রায় ছয়শত বছর ধরে আস্তে আস্তে উন্নতির শেখড়ে উঠা মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়ের উপর। মাত্র দুই দশকের মধ্যে এ অঞ্চলের শত শত শহরের প্রত্যকটিকে ধুলোয় মিশিয়ে দিয়ে এক ভূতুড়ে ভূখন্ডে পরিণত করেছিল মঙ্গলীয় রা। সেসময় এ অঞ্চলের প্রায় এক থেকে দেড় কোটি মানুষ কে হত্যা করে তাদের কাটা মাথা দিয়ে শতশত পিরামিড বানিয়েছিল মঙ্গলীয় সৈন্যরা। মুসলিমদের উপর চলা এমন ভয়াবহ হত্যাযজ্ঞ কিভাবে মেনে নিয়েছিলেন মুসলিমরা যাকে সৃষ্টিকর্তা বলে মেনে চলে সেই আল্লাহ? তিনি কেন মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়কে মঙ্গলীয়দের হাত থেকে বাচান নি? কেন মঙ্গলীয়দের উপর আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে কোন গজব নেমে আসেনি?
In this context, I would first like to tell you a verse from the Holy Qur'an.
1) "People get what they do."
এ প্রসঙ্গে আমি প্রথমেই পবিত্র কোরানের একটা আয়াত আপনাকে বলতে চাই।
১) "মানুষ তাই পাই যা সে করে।"
Through the last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Allah made it clear to the Muslim community how every step of their life should be. If people follow these things then they will be successful. Otherwise people will be humiliated. This is exactly the situation in which the Muslim community of the thirteenth century fell.
সর্বশেষ নবী হযরত মুহাম্মাদ (সাঃ) এর মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়কে তাদের জীবনের প্রতিটি পদক্ষেপ কেমন হতে হবে সে সম্পর্কে স্পষ্ট ভাবে বলে দিয়েছিলেন। যদি মানুষ এসব কিছু মেনে চলে তাহলে তারা হবে সফলকাম। অন্যথায় মানুষ হবে লাঞ্চিত। ঠিক এমনি এক অবস্থার মধ্যে পড়েছিল ত্রয়োদশ শতাব্দীর দিককার মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়।
From the twelfth to the fourteenth centuries, Muslim rulers forgot their own history and tradition and became intoxicated with luxury. They get into fights among themselves. The Egyptian Bahari Mamluk, the Ayyubid Sultanate of Syria, the Seljuk of Anatolia, the Abbasid Caliphate of Baghdad, and the Shah Khawarizm Sultanate of Qurasan were all at loggerheads. An-Nasir Shah, the father of Caliph al-Muttasim, who was killed by Halaku Khan, even sent a letter to Genghis Khan to attack the Khawarizm Sultanate. It was the first time in Muslim history that a Muslim caliph invited a pagan king to invade another Muslim sultanate. Who knew then that the descendants of Genghis Khan would cause the cruel death of An Nasir's son.
বারো থেকে চতুর্দশ শতাব্দী পর্যন্ত মুসলিম শাসকগণ তাদের নিজেদের ইতিহাস-ঐতিহ্য ভুলে গিয়ে বিলাসিতায় মত্ত হয়ে পড়েছিল। তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের মধ্যে মারামারিতে ব্যস্ত হয়ে পড়ে। মিশরীয় বাহারি মামলুক, শাম অঞ্চলের আইয়ুবী সালতানাত, আনাতোলিয়ার সেলজুক, বাগদাদের আব্বাসীয় খিলাফত, কোরাসানের শাহ খাওয়ারিজম সালতানাত তখন নিজেদের মধ্যেই অন্তরকোন্দলে ব্যস্ত। এমনকি হালাকু খানের হাতে নিহত খলিফা আল মুত্তাসিমের বাবা আন-নাসির শাহ খাওয়ারিজম সালতানাতে আক্রমনের জন্য চেঙ্গিস খানের কাছে চিঠি পর্যন্ত পাটিয়েছিলেন। কি পরিমাণ ঘৃনা থাকলে মুসলিম জাহানের খলিফা হয়ে এমন একটা কাজ করা সম্ভব, কখনো কি এটা ভাবা যায়! এটা ছিল মুসলিম ইতিহাসের প্রথম ঘটনা যেখানে একজন মুসলিম খলিফা আরেকটি মুসলিম সালতানাতে আক্রমনের জন্য কোন বিধর্মী রাজাকে আমন্ত্রণ করেন। তখন কে জানতো এই চেঙ্গিস খানের বংশধরের হাতেই আন নাসিরের পুত্রের নির্মম মৃত্যু হবে।
As a result, when the Mongols were attacking a Muslim sultanate, none of the other Muslim sultanates came forward to help their Muslim brothers. In this way, one by one, the Muslim empires were reduced to dust by the Mongols forces.
ফলে দেখা গেল মঙ্গলীয় রা যখন একটা মুসলিম সালতানাত আক্রমণ করছে, অন্য মুসলিম সালতানাত গুলো কেউ তাদের মুসলিম ভাইদের সাহায্য করতে এগিয়ে আসেনি। এভাবে একের পর এক মুসলিম সাম্রাজ্য গুলো ধুলোয় মিশিয়ে দিয়েছিল মঙ্গলীয় বাহিনী।
Allah has instructed us all Muslim communities to be united, to come first in each other's danger, never to cause trouble among themselves and to try our best to face that danger by believing in Allah no matter what the terrible danger may be. But at one time we did not remember any of this. So we are responsible for the danger that befell us at that time.
আল্লাহ আমাদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন সকল মুসলিম সম্প্রদায় যাতে একতা বদ্ধ থাকে, একে অন্যের বিপদে সবার আগে এগিয়ে আসে, কখনো নিজেদের মধ্যে ঝামেলা সৃষ্টি না করে এবং যত ভয়ঙ্কর বিপদই আসুক না কেন, আল্লাহর উপর বিশ্বাস রেখে সেই বিপদের মোকাবেলা করার জন্য আপ্রাণ চেষ্টা করা। অথচ একটা সময় আমরা এসবের কোন কিছুই মনে রাখিনি। সুতরাং সেসময় আমাদের উপর বিপদ নেমে আসলে নিশ্চয়ই সে জন্য আমরাই দায়ী।
We are responsible for this catastrophe of Muslims. If we had obeyed what God had instructed us to do, we would not have had such cruel consequences.
মুসলিমদের এই বিপর্যয়ের জন্য আমরাই দায়ী। আল্লাহ আমাদেরকে যা নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন সেগুলো মেনে চললে সেসময় আমাদের এমন নির্মম পরিণতি হতো না।
So if anyone ever asks whether Muslims blame Allah for the terrible disaster that has befallen them, the answer is very clear. No Muslim blames Allah for such a tragic outcome. That is our due and our tasks.
তাই যদি কখনো কেউ প্রশ্ন করে মুসলিমরা কি তাদের উপর নেমে আসা ভয়াবহ বিপর্যয়ের জন্য আল্লাহকে দোষারোপ করে কিনা, এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর একদম পরিষ্কার। কোন মুসলিমই এমন করুণ পরিনতির জন্য আল্লাহ কে দোষারোপ করেন না। সেটা আমাদের প্রাপ্য তথা আমাদেরই কর্মফল।
