INTRODUCTION

We all want to stay healthy because ailment is an inconvenience and an expense as well. Illness makes one to feel bad,stops one from going to work or school,stops a steemian from writing quality contents, the worse of it all is that it can stop one from earning money or looking after his family. One who is sick may need someone to look after him or her,he may even have to pay for expensive medicines and treatment.

preventing a disease is better than getting sick,then look for cure. Though some ailments are inevitable,still, there's much one can do to get on the road to a healthy life.


HOW TO IMPROVE HEALTH

(1)PRACTICE GOOD PERSONAL HYGIENE:

The best way one can prevent his or herself from contaminations is to wash his or her hands regularly. Good personal hygiene prevents the spread of more serious diseases, such as pneumonia and diarrhea, which every year cause the death of millions younger ones. Even the spread of deadly viral infections can be minimized by the simple habit of washing hands.

hand washing is particularly important:

After using the toilet

After changing a baby diaper or helping a kid to use the toilet.

Before treating a wound and after treating a wound.

Before being with a patient and after being with a patient.

Before preparing a meal, serving a meal,or eating food.

After sneezing, coughing, or blowing nose.

After touching an animal or animal waste.

After handling garbage.

Hands should be properly washed. You can properly wash your hands as indicated below:

make sure your hands are wetted in clean running water and apply soap afterward.

Rub your hands together for about 20 seconds to make a lather, clean your nails, your thumbs, the back of your hands, and between your fingers.

Rinse your hands in clean running water.

dry your hands with clean towel.

Having clean water for drinking, bathing and cooking can become a concern in any part of the globe when the main water supply that is usually good to drink is contaminated as a result of a flood, a storm, pipe breakage, or some other issues. If water is not from a safe source or is not properly stored, it can cause parasite infestation,cholera,diarrhea, typhoid, hepatitis etc

Steps you can take to protect yourself from water contaminations:

Get the water you drink, the water you use for brushing teeth, the water you use in washing food and dishes, or the water you use in cooking from a safe source, such as an adequately treated public supply or sealed bottles from a reputable water company.

If your piped supply is contaminated, boil your water before using it or treat it with an appropriate chemical product,such as chlorine,water-purifying tablets. But carefully follow the directions from the manufacturers of such chemicals.

Use quality water filter

Store your treated water in a clean, covered container to protect it from being recontaminated.

Ensure that the vessel you use to take water from your stored supply, such as a cup, is clean.

Avoid dipping your hands or fingers into water used for drinking.

(3) BE WATCHFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT:

Staying healthy is impossible without good nutrition-balanced diet. Always take into consideration your intake of salt, fats, and sugar, and watch the size of the portions you consume. Make sure you inlude fruits and vegetables in your diet, and always vary what you eat. Read the packaging when you want to buy bread, cereals, pasta, or rice as this will help you select whole-grain foods.

If you consume too much sugar and solid fats, you are risking becoming overweight. Drink water instead of sweet beverages. It is recommended you Eat fruits instead of sugary desserts. Keep your intake of solid fats to a limit. Use healthier oils for cooking instead solid fats.

To avoid rise of blood pressure to a level that is unhealthy,don't take much salt, or sodium. Reading information on food packaging will help you keep your sodium intake low. Use spices instead of sodium to season your foods-such as meat.

Do not too much, don't continue eating when you are satisfied.

Prevent food poisoning by properly preparing and storing your food.

(4)STAY PHYSICALLY ACTIVE

Exercise regularly to stay in good shape.

physical exercise can help you to:

have a sound Sleep

Stay Active

have and maintain a healthy weight.

reduce the risk of suffering from depression.

reduce the risk of premature death.

Age and health condition determine the kind of exercise that is suitable for you. so it is best to consult a doctor before beginning any new exercise program.
Fun activities like playing a basketball, tennis, soccer could be helpful. Also jogging, swimming and other aerobic exercise.

(5) GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Get the right amount of sleep, and this should not be considered optional. Adults need to sleep from 7 to 8 hours in a day. Getting enough is very pertinent for:

Growth and development in younger ones

Learning and retention of new information.

Maintaining the right balance of hormones

Cardiovascular health.

prevention of disease


CONCLUSION

We can improve our health by:practicing good Personal hygiene, always using safe water supply, being watchful of what we eat, staying physically active and getting enough sleep.
