Hello steemians, I am @ononiwujoel a member of steemingzen and today I'll be writing about the new skill (Web development) I'm currently learning and how I plan to use it in the steemit platform.
Special regards to Steeming community and steemingzen for the privilege to participate in this contest.
About my new skill (web development)
Web development is building, creating, and maintaining websites. It includes aspects like web design, web publishing, web programming, and management in order that the website should look great, work fast and perform well. Web development covers tasks like web designing, scripting, eCommerce development, network security development, and far more. Web developers do that by employing a number of coding languages.
There are three types of Web development and they are the frontend, backend and fullstack development
Frontend Development
The front-end development is liable for the design and feel of the website. The role of the front-end web designer is to form the location to look beautiful, interactive, and responsive which suggests he/she should look out of the view of the location on a mobile, tablet, and desktop. a number of the languages employed by front web developers are;
- HTML (HyperText Markup Language)
- CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
- Javascript
- Jquery
- React
- Angular JS
Backend Development
The back-end development has the foremost important role in building an internet site. This developer is the person about whom nobody really knows. A back-end developer writes the server-side code to form sure that the info should flow back and forth from a website’s front-end. A back-end developer can program in several programming languages, a number of them are;
- PHP
- Java
- C#
- MySQL
- MongoDB
Fullstack Development
A Full stack web developer can work on both the front and back ends. He’s an individual who can develop both client and server software.
My New Skill and I
Having briefly explained what my new skill looks like I'll now tell of my experiences and the how I've managed to maintain pace till date.
I started this skill 2months ago with the intention of being a fullstack developer (someone that can do both frontend and backend) and so far I'm almost through with front-end development. The basic things that kept me going are;
Passion:
I'm a graphics designer already and I've always had this passion for digital and Web related projects. I didn't get involved in any of these skills because of the money I can earn doing them but because doing them actually makes me very happy.
I can remember doing a number of different graphic design jobs for some people and collecting almost nothing from them because it's based on passion so I used same passion for my current learning.Consistency:
This skill requires trying and retrying until you master it and I've gradually gotten used to this process. I do have a lot of code and compile errors when trying to build a site but it doesn't stop me from retrying and researching until I'm satisfiedResearch:
This skill requires a lot of research because its very broad and you can't be a great developer by learning from just one person or platform due to the fact that every tutor has his pattern of training and may not cover some aspects you will need later on when on real projectsTiming:
This is one the vital points in learning this skill. I made a timetable for study and practice so that I can make the best out the time I have on this everyday. If you don't time yourself you may end up learning one skill forever or getting carried away when learning so this is very important not only for learning web development but also for other skills.
How I can influence Steemit with my new skill
Well like I said before, I'm still in the learning process but when I'm done I can influence Steemit with this skill by having weekly tutorials for Web development on Steemit and in that way I inspire people that maybe interested in Web development.
I can also be making posts to analyse trending topics on Web development on my blog and this community
Thanks for viewing
