Ruwanweli Pagoda

I hope you are safe and healthy. So today I thought of coming to you with a very beautiful post.

So guys, today I am talking about Ruwanweli Pagoda.

So guys, today I am going to share with you about the Ruwanveli Pagoda located in Anuradhapura Pooja City.

In fact, this is one of my favorite places to visit. It can be seen that this place has become famous among the Sri Lankan people as well as many foreign tourists.

Many years ago in Sri Lanka, there was a kingdom system based on a king. This Ruwanweli Pagoda was built by a king named Dutugemunu, who reigned in the past, according to the literature source called Mahavansaya.

But even though the construction of this pagoda was started by King Dutugemunu, it is mentioned in the past chronicles that he fell ill before the completion of the Ruwanweli Pagoda. Therefore, before the death of this king, the part of the Ruwanweli Pagoda which was partially completed to fulfill his wish is covered with white cloth. His younger brother, King Saddhatissa, arranged to show this pagoda before King Dutugamunu death.

After the death of King Dutugemunu, his younger brother, King Saddhatissa, completed the remaining works of the Ruwanweli Pagoda, which had not yet been completed.

So there are many past stories related to this temple. One of them is that this pagoda is known as Ruwanveli Chaitya and Swarnamali Pagoda. The reason for that is that in the historical sources it is mentioned that there was a big old tree in the place chosen to create this Swarnamali Pagoda and in that tree there was a beautiful goddess named Swarnamali. Later, the king requested the god to allow the tree to be removed from that place. It is mentioned in the historical sources that the name of the god was applied to this pagoda as a tribute to that god.

And this temple is a very important temple for us Buddhists. The reason I say so is that there are a large number of ashes of Buddha's sons and Arhats buried in this pagoda.

This is a really beautiful place. When you come here, you feel a sense of peace.

In this place there is a separate place for lighting coconut oil lamps.There is a separate place for offering flowers.There is no difference between day and night.
Devotees always come in large numbers to worship the Ruwanweli Pagoda.

So the sky is the bluest blue, so the surroundings are very beautiful in the evening.

So, from the point of entering here, you can see many shops selling offerings and flowers. So you can see devotees offering lotus flowers in large numbers to this pagoda.

Similarly, we can see four other small pagodas around the Ruwanweli Pagoda. Similarly, we can see the flower seats built for offering flowers and the Buddha statue at this station.

Also, for the convenience of the devotees who come to visit this temple, you can see an advanced infrastructure system.

So everyone is invited to come and see this staan. And it is our responsibility to protect such precious staans.
