Hello kids
It's such a special time with you guys. Hope you are all having a good time. I want to share with you one of my favourite childhood stories, thanks to @ngoenyi
Stories are enjoyed by kids all over the world especially by an elderly person, mummy, daddy, uncle, etc. Most of them speak about the wisdom of the tortoise, but my favourite story centers on the hare.
The Hare And The Lion
Once upon a time in the kingdom of the animals, there lived a king the lion who brought peace to the land of the animals. The animals were all loved by him both the old and the young. One day, all the young animals came to the palace. “Long live the King”, all the animals said. The tiger went ahead, “we have a request to make your highness”, “go on” the lion said.
The tiger continued, “we have been in peace all these years without the help of our elderly ones all this time, we the youths, the able bodied men can fight, think and defend our family without them”. The tortoise said “they are old, slow and can't help us with anything”
The king said “what do you suggest we do”. “Kill them all” they all yelled. The king said that they should do what they want. All the animals killed their parents except the hare. The hare hid his old mom up in a very high tree where no one knew. He brought food by using a long robe and a song to make sure it's him.
One day, as the king was sleeping and snoring, a snake crawled into his mouth and turned itself that the head was coming out from the Lion's mouth. Many days and weeks passed, still the snake never left. The lion grew thinner by the day as he couldn't eat anything. The king promised that anyone who can bring out the snake from his mouth will marry his daughter. None of the young animals were able to do it.
The hare went and asked his mom what to do, his mom told him to hide behind a bush, tie a robe to a mice that the snake would chase it and crawl out from the Lion's mouth. The hare did so and it worked. The king thanked the hare and fulfilled his promise. The animals were happy that the hare's mom saved their king.
The hare and the king's daughter lives happily ever after
My dad told me this story when I was still a little boy in primary school. I also read it in a novel
Lessons
- Everyone is important, both old and young
- Always try to find out the good in others
- Anyone has a part to play in life
- The better advice are from the elderly ones

Wonderful story. I didn't know it, but now that you have told it to me, I think I will use it as a wonderful parable of the astuteness of mama hare who with her wise counsel was able to help the king's daughter. I loved your story and wish you success in the contest.
