In the beautiful city of Uyo, Blessing was a renowned tailor who was exquisitely skilled at sewing a craft that she earned the nickname "Adiaha fashion", meaning first daughter of fashion.
She poured her heart into creatively dressing up people, especially women. This skillfulness brought about whispers among the people that she was a daughter of the gods. That is why her hands were gifted.
However, Blessing had encountered a hitch as she had received a contract to sew Julie's bridal gown. Julie was known by all to be a very difficult and demanding person.
The first gown was a beautiful gown shimmering with ivory stones. Julie concluded that it was not befitting for her.
The second gown was said to be unfit for the wedding theme. The third gown was also rejected, with claims that it was too conspicuous.
This pack of acts slowly dissolved Blessing's confidence, and she dreaded sewing for weeks.
One rainy evening, Blessing felt weighed, massaging her temples, she sat there, curled up in her wooly blankets taking sips of her famous grandma's tea recipe, stirring into space, praying silently to God and watching the rain droplets on the window.
"The music played softly while the rain tapped gently on the window"
The rain tapped gently against the window, making a rhythmic serenade that could not be ignored, filling the small room with a soothing melody.
Inside the warm cottage, soft music played on the radio, its beautiful harmony mingling with the sound of raindrops making harmonious notes pleasing to the ear.
In the midst of her thoughts, she envisioned the bride dressed in a fitted gown embellished with elegant appliques, soft layers of white silk and tulle nets finished up with delicate blooms and floral petals cascading from the waist to the floor and winded down the aisles, making the bride magnificent to behold.
The sleeves were sheer and made up of soft swan feathers, vintages and adorned with lace screaming elegance.
She suddenly smiled and picked up her pencil and sketch pad. Each stroke of her pencil brought her vision to life of an enchanting gown that embodied grace and was ready to capture hearts and set heads spinning. She was sure that the bride (Julie)would be stunned by it and would not reject it again.
Just as envisaged, Julie screamed and grinned (I love this). This brought a great relief to Blessing as she smiled, knowing that inspiration often comes when one least expects it. It could be wrapped in a rainy day filled with good melodies and soothing tea.
I'll love to invite @eveetim @kafio @atimisaac
I could feel the mood in the room with the rain tapping on the window, the music playing, and the girl who is daydreaming.
Thank you for taking part with such a nice post.
Best wishes!
