Hey there

I'm privilege once again to participate in a contest organized by @Steemkidss. It will be my pleasure to invite @rosita-nkefor, @muluhpenn and @blaisebass to take part in this contest.

What is compassion?
Compassion is love and understanding put together. It is when I know everything about someone and I still love that person.
Compassion is a choice. I have to decide whether to be a compassionate person or not. It is often said that to be a compassionate person I most learn to practice love. And there's no better place to practice love, than with the people life brings on my way daily.

Imagine David, a former Manager of a Commercial Bank who was left paralyzed from an accident. The bank and his friends dumped him without even giving a second thought. He used all the money he had saved, plus his insurance and every dime he had, trying to treat himself to know avail. While doing his last medical checkup, the doctor advices that he should not border to come to the hospital again because his days are few months on earth now. David was virtually left with nothing

One day, Daisy, a Christian woman from a nearby church visited to pray with him and his family. As they were discussing, she said, David, you speak very much about the short life you are still having here on earth. Please have you made arrangements on where you are going to be as you leave from here?

David was provoked and said, All you Christian ever think about is what is going to happen to me when I die. If God is so good and loving, why doesn't He do something about the daily problems we are going through? He continued and said, Because of my situation, I am going to die, leaving my wife without a dime and my son and daughter won't make it through school. In his anger and frustration he drove Daisy out of his house.

Two weeks later, Daisy and her husband Dean visited David again. This time, Daisy introduced her husband to David and apologized for offending him the last time she came. Then promised him that she isn't going to do that again today. With this said, they proceeded into their discussion. Daisy said, "I want you to know that the Lord is at work even in your situation. Your first challenge was concerning where your family will live when you die right." David responded with an unwavering Yes. She said, "Lucius, a member in our church sympathized your situation and agreed to give your family a house for free.1 This are the documents and keys, all in your name."

Then concerning your second challenge, "My husband will tell you our resolved on that himself." Dean said, "When my wife came home from your place, she was very disturbed. After inquiring from her what the problem is, she told me everything about you. So together, we have decided to sponsor your two children still there go through the university and have a job for themselves."

Hearing all these, David could not hold his tears back.

Two months later, he died, though without accepting Christ into his life. But he tasted and could testify of God's compassion through Daisy.

Who Should be Compassionate and Why?
I think everyone should be Compassionate. Today you may not be in need but you don't know how tomorrow will definitely be. Example of David above. He had no idea when he was a bank manager that his life will turn out the way it was.

For the fact that you don't know tomorrow please be Compassionate

How I have Shown Compassion and How the Recipient Felt

The two pictures above were taken at Hope Orphanage in Mbengwi, Bamenda-Cameroon. The orphanage ran out of food stuff due to the crisis in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon. And the Owner of the Orphanage send out a video recording on Facebook. I saw the video, decided to risk it to go find out whether there's an orphanage there. And when came back, I mobilized for stuffs you see in the pictures above. You can see for yourself that the children were happy and likewise their careers.

Right with me here, I am sponsoring and orphanage who's parents died and this same Crisis drove him from the village. Below is a picture of him coming back from school.

How Someone Showed Compassion to Me and How I Felt
Akamatso Tening Mogwa, is the name of the person who should compassion to me. I can never forget it. When I was at the seminary, I ran out of fees. And I had no one to run to for assistance. One evening, after my regular evening exercise, my phone rang, I picked it up looked at the screen and so a strange number. When I answered the call, the voice on the other side was strange too. But what moved me most was his reason for calling.

He learned that there's someone from his tribe who has gone for training in the pastoral field and his heart moved him to send in his support. So he wants to start with 50,000frs. You know I hardly share tears, but this evening I cried for joy.

Should People Cultivate Compassion as a Virtue?
My take is a yes. And if possible, everyone should who to see that it that children are intentionally trained from very tender ages to be Compassionate.

How I Learnt Compassion
I started learning from my parents when I was a kid. And it materialized in me when I became a Christian and is daily maturing in faith.

How The World Will Look Like if Everyone is Compassionate
I think the world will be a wonderful place, with no need and suffering. Because there won't be a challenge to hard to handle.
