  👉Egusi and vegetable recipe 👈

Egusi is the melon seeds, while vegetables that i used are pumpkin leaf 🍃 called ugu in the igbo language. So stay turned and observe my cooking style 😋.

Here are the things that i used to prepare my soup, and it cost.

  • Pumpkin leaf 🍃 500
  • Melon seeds. 1k
  • Dry fish. 2k
  • Stockfish. 400
  • Palm oil. 500
  • Titus fish. 2k
  • Seasoning cubes. 200
  • Salt.
  • Dry pepper. 200
  • Uziza leaf. 300

It only cost me 7,100 naira, which is about 15steem, currently, is to show how bad the economy is right now.

First step.

I placed my pot on hit and added a small quantity of water that will be moderate to the vegetable. I have to add stockfish first for it to be soft and cooked.

Next step.

After some minutes of boiling the stockfish, I have to introduce my palm oil and seasoning cubes with pepper and cover for some minutes to boil so that i can add my Egusi (melon )

Next step.

As i was waiting for it to boil well, I used the space to get my EGUSI ready by purring small hot water that i took from the soup pot and mixed it together. Remember, it must be thick, not watering.

Next step.

Allow your soup to boil well before you add your egusi. As you can see from the image here, I just added my egusi and covered it to cook for some minutes.

Next step.

Now, this is how it looks, so i have to turn it gently because the balls were too big. I also added my fresh titus to cook together.

Next step.

As i was waiting, i had to get my dry fish ready. After a few minutes, i added the dry fish together with my uziza leaf 🍃 and cover to cook. I love this uziza leaf 🍃 because the aroma is massive. You can try it out.

Next step.

After boiling for a few minutes, i added the pumpkin leaf that's the vegetable and turned it gently before i covered it to cook. I gave it three minutes to cook so that it won't be too soft, then after three, i added salt. Don't forget to test, I tested the soup to check if there's any lacking items, but my measurements were accurate.

Finally, this is the face of the soup and me taking Selfie 🤳 with my egusi soup. You're free to join me and also drop your entry so that I can learn from you too.
