INTRODUCTION

Warmest greetings great people on this amazing community. It's your favorite girl @enyddy, feeling happy to be back here against all odds, Hope you day is going as planned. I thank God for a brand new day and for the miracle of sleeping and waking, I'm not talking any of these for granted.

So today I decided to cook what I enjoyed eating, (plantain porridge) cos to me, everything is not garri 🤣. Cook it anyhow, ripe and unripe. I love it. Before I get into the step by step of preparation, let me list out what makes up this delicious meal.

INGREDIENTS

  • Unripe plaintain
  • Dry fish
  • Cray fish
  • Pepper
  • Onions
  • Seasoning cube
  • Palm oil
  • Salt
  • Vegetable leaf

As eye-catching as these looks, the health benefit of plantain is mind- blowing too. And here are some of the benefits.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF PLANTAIN

  • Plantain have a greater amount of potassium which maintain cells and body fluids.
  • The fiber in it helps control cholesterol
  • It helps in preventing one from having heart disease or cancer.
  • Add plantain to your diet to boost your immune system.

STEP BY STEP PREPARATION

I first of all set aside a clean pot I will be using to cook. Then I picked up the plantain, wash it to avoid sand from the body of the plantain after peel. I carefully peeled the plantain into a basin of water, wash and then slice it into smaller pieces.

After that I made all the other ingredients ready then I put all of them into the pot, put water and allow it to cook for like 20 minutes. Later I tasted it to see if the plantain is soft enough. The softness level was not enough so I allow it for five more minutes.

I later added some seasoning clubs, salt and palm oil to it to still add to the taste, and I mixed it properly. Then I finally added my already sliced vegetable leaf and in no distance time, my delicious plantain porridge was ready.

I love putting periwinkle in my porridge plantain, it makes it go so well.
