This topic is so important because some kids and teens usually find it difficult to read their books, not to talk of reading long paragraphs. Some used to speed up a video they feel it's not moving quickly, yet some could not focused if their cell phone went off, all thy could think of is who's texting them that particular time. Do you find yourself committed any of these? Need not to worry because I'll discuss in this article why you can't focus and also how you can improve focus, so stay tune!

Reasons You Can't Stay Focus:

Technology can make it hard for you not to focus, "frequent use of the web makes the brain got distracted, it makes the brain to process information very fast and efficiently but without sustained attention".

Settings Where Technology Might Interfere With Your Concentration:

• When Talking: I observed that even when having One on One Conversation with someone, some teens tend to be playing games, texting or checking their social media on their phone without paying full attention to the person talking.

• In Class: Some kids usually use their device for non educational purposes while class is going on, they use their device for browsing or texting during class.

• When Studying: Teenagers find it difficult to focus while studying especially when their phone is buzzing, they find out that they spend more hours than necessary to carry out their homework because they're being distracted by their device.

The bottom line is you will find it hard to focus if you are allowed technology to control or distract you.

How To Improve Focus:

When you're conversing with someone show consideration by paying rapt attention to the person. Try and maintain an eye contact, don't be distracted by your device. You can achieve this by resisting the urge to check your phone. Show respect the person talking with you by giving him/her your undivided attention.

Tips: keep your phone out of sight when communicating with someone, this will prevent your focus from being alter.

When in Class, if your school allows access to internet in classroom, just focus on your learning don't chat online, playing games or checking messages.

Pay rapt attention in class, take notes, sit in front of the classroom if possible so as to avoid distractions.

Tips: instead of taking note on computer it better you take by hand, this will help you to be less distracted, and be able to recall what you've learned.

When Studying: the purpose of studying is to acquire wisdom and understanding, and this involved deeper thinking, so always keep your phone in a mode that will not distract you. It can be in an airplane mode this will help you to be focus on what you are doing.

Tips: make sure your studying environment is conducive to allow you focus. Keep it clean and uncluttered.

Okay kids so this are few things you need to do to improve your focus, don't allow your phone to distract or control you, you need self discipline on this aspect, secondly be like a scuba diver when studying, dig deeper to find something of real value, don't be like a water skier who covers a lot of ground but just skim the surface.😂
