THE DIARY GAME; 14-06-2024|| MY DAY AT MY PRACTICING SCHOOL, GIVING SOLUTIONS AND MY SUPERVISOR'S VISIT.

Being able to make a little contribution in the lives of those learning from you is one of the best things that can ever happen to a teacher and a mentor.

Dear Diary,
My day started out a bit moody but ended well.

MORNING ACTIVITIES

I woke up at 5:00 am that morning with mixed emotions knowing I had to meet up with the long bus which would be my means of transportation to my school of practice. I had body pains before going to bed and woke up still feeling them. Not minding, I said my prayers, had my bath dressed up and hurried out of the house so as to secure a good space in the bus. Going late would entail standing throughout the journey. I didn't want to add that to my catalogue for the day seeing that I woke up with mixed emotions.

I got to the bus stop a bit late since I had to walk from my home there and needed to wait for a course mate too. I noticed the bus had moved from the bus stop and had commenced the journey. I felt so bad and decided to take a fast walk down the aisle to see if I could meet up with the bus. Luckily, the bus had stopped to pick up passengers by the roadside and I had the opportunity to join the bus.

I got to my school of practice at 7:53 am and was able to join them for the morning devotion where we were taught not to let the devil's view be ours but God's view.

On getting to the chemistry laboratory where I stay, these lovely students came to meet me for some clarification. Talking to someone whose age difference from yours is not that high, is way easier than talking to someone whose age difference with yours is quite high. They asked questions pertaining their academics; the subjects they had issues with and how they can navigate through those challenges. I told them what has been working for me and some academia I know in the most friendly and workable way I could. They promised to give it a trial and get back to me. I really hope it works for them.

One thing I really admired is the intentionality and I was glad that they found me worthy to be asked such important questions.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

Fridays are always special, at least it is ushering us into the weekend and so myself and my colleague decided to take some photographs.

While we were still on this, we got a call that our supervisor was around and needed to see us. On a Friday? Quite strange! We hurriedly fixed up our logbooks and notebooks and went to meet him in the staff room. The session with him went well as he was calm with us and corrected us where he thought it was necessary. I really didn't envisage it to go that calmly since my previous supervisor was one who had so much strictness in her that scared me to my bone marrow.

The girls were to vacate that day for mid-term break and so the two who had come to ask questions made us some natural flowers. What a delight! The thoughtfulness made me so glad and we decided to keep memories of it since through picture since keeping the flower safe from withering would be difficult. I miss them!😔

EVENING ACTIVITIES

The school had its PTA meeting and so we had to stay until the meeting was over before we left. I got home at 4:30 pm feeling famished and worst off my phone had gone off. I had dinner at 5:00 pm while waiting for light to come so I can charge. After waiting for a while ,I had to go to bed at 8:00 pm since I wanted reading during the early hours of Saturday morning. Light later came at 10:00 pm and I got my phone charged.
