Homework Task

What are the benefits of transportation?

There are many benefits of transportation.
The following are some of the benefits of transportation I can see and experience:

• Transportation made movement faster and easier especially when modern means of transportation is put to use. Modern means of transportation has shortened the journey that would have take weeks or months when treking to hours and days.

• Modern transportation had made trading between countries possible.

• The use of modern means of transportation has help in importation and exportation of raw materials for industrial use. And this has lead to economic development.

• Transportation has made interaction between people of different countries possible.

• Transportation has make it possible for sick people to get to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment with ease which would have been impossible for the sick ones to move on thier own to the hospital for treatment.

List and explain 4 problems of modern transportation

Though the advancement of modern technology has helped in so many ways. There are also problems associated with these means of transportation which I will like to state below:

1. High cost of transportation: Alot of money is needed in order to use modern means of transportation. It is not really easy today for some of us to travel by air using aeroplane because of the high cost of transportation.
   And to maintain these modern means of transportation is also very expensive as there are fewer expertise who can care for it.

2. Accident: Modern means of transportation brought about accidents. It is not heard of as two people who were trekking having accidents or two donkeys having accidents. But with modern means of transportation, accidents are regular occurrence.

3. Lack of facilities: There are places in some countries, even in my country Nigeria in particular who does not have the facilities to make use of this modern means of transportation. Some places do not have motorable roads, railways and airports.

4. Traffic jam: Because of the a lot of vehicles on the road, many people spent hours on the road because of traffic logjam.
   In some state in Nigeria, Lagos State precisely, workers leave their houses as early as 4am so that they will be able to get to their workplace on time.
   You see, someone that is supposed to be at his or her work place by 8am or 9am will leave their house by 4am so as to be able to beat traffic. Some of these people who left their houses by 4am will still report late to office at the hours of 9:30 am or 10am.
   You see, some spent 4 to 5 hours on road transportation. This is really a problem.

Mention and explain the solutions to the problem of modern transportation.

When there is problem, there is likely going to be solution too. Here are some solutions I think will helped in connection to problems of modern means of transportation.

1. The cost of transportation should be subsidised by government.
2. There should be proper Maintenance of road transport facilities such as roads, seaports, railways etc.
3. More roads should be constructed because of increasing population of people and vehicles on the road. If more roads are built, car owners will choose to use alternative roads to drive and thus congestion in the road will be reduced.
4. Only those who passed through a recognised driving school should be given licence to drive as these ones will know and obey rules and regulations on the road.

Conclusion

This is the end of my homework post for this week and I hope I have been able to answer the homework task satisfactorily @udyliciouz ma'am.
