How to cook Epang nkukwo iwa

Good day my dear steemians today i will love to show you and write on how to cook Epang nkukwo iwa.

Epang nkukwo iwa is made from cassava, it is one of the best delicacy in Akwa Ibom State, it is mostly eaten in our village and so many people in our community love it.
This one is specially made from cassava and there is one that is made from cocoyam and wateryam which is called Epang nkukwo but the one i will love to write on is Epang nkukwo iwa. The steps in preparation and the ingredient are below;

ingredients:

  • Cassava
  • Nkukwo
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Maggi
  • Bongafish, biscuitbone, canda (optional)
  • Crayfish
  • Palm oil
  • Periwinkle
  • Curry leaf or hot leaf

Untensils used are;

  • Grater
  • Tray
  • Spoon
  • Pot
  • Basin
  • Seive
  • Knife

Steps to follow are;

Without steps used in preparing any type of delicacy we can not prepare anything so we need to know the step in preparing Epang nkukwo iwa which are as follows;

  • Select the good ones.
  • Cut and peel.
  • Wash the cassava to be clean.
  • Wash your Untensils.
  • Grind your cassava with your grater and put water and turn it.
  • Seive it because some cassava have a little bitterness in it.
  • After that you keep it aside.
  • Prepare your nkukwo by cutting it little by little.
  • Wash it with clean water and keep it aside.
  • Bring your pot put a little oil in it and put your periwinkle to prevent the Epang nkukwo from burning.
  • Tie your Epang nkukwo with the nkukwo leaf little by little until you finish the process of tying.
  • Put a little salt and maggi inside the pot that you put the palm oil, periwinkle, and nkukwo.

  • Place your pot on the 🔥 fire put a little water like one small cup of water and let it steam for about 4-5 minute.
  • Open your pot and you realize that the pot is boiled.
  • Put your crayfish, bongafish, pepper, small palm oil again, biscuitbone, canda if you have.
  • Put a little water again for the ingredient to steam and you cover your pot for another 5 minute.
  • After that you mixed the food and taste if salt and maggi is ok if it is not ok put small of them to let the taste of the food to come out.
  • Cut your vegetable and put in the pot, mixed it and your food is ready to be served.
