CHAPTER 1

Several years ago, I met this wonderful girl named Winner. She was beautiful inside and out, always kind and never easily upset. If you offended her, she wouldn't even flinch. Her friendly and communicative nature was something I really admired. She had this funny, mischievous side that made you laugh even when she was being troublesome.

One day, we were all in her room—me, my brother, and her siblings—watching an interesting movie. We were jumping on the bed and making a lot of noise, when suddenly her mom called out, Winner!! but she didn't hear because of all the noise.

She was watching an interesting movie with me, my brother, and her siblings. We were jumping on the bed and making a lot of noise. The noise that echoed from the room hindered her from her mom's attention.

Iwinnerrrr!!! her mom called again, louder this time.

Ma! Winner finally responded, running down happily and noisily to meet her mom, while we continued watching our movie.

Winner's warm, playful nature made me want to visit her often. I loved playing with her. She had a young voice and a jovial spirit that was infectious.

A few years later, my brother and I moved back to our home residence, Owo, Ondo state. Sadly, I didn't have any contact information for Winner or her family. I was too young to think about getting her or her mom's contact details, so we lost touch.

Sam, this is a total mess up. How do you think I can get in touch with her again? I asked my brother.

It's over. That's sad. I don’t think there’s a way out. Wait... you can ask our uncle to help us, he suggested.

A few days later, I asked my uncle for help, but he told me that Winner's family had moved out of the house. The house belonged to her uncle.

Gosh!! I screamed out in frustration. But you know what they say, never say never. I was determined to find her again, sooner or later.
