STELLA'S STIGMA
Stella was twenty years old when she left her village for Lagos to seek for a job. Then, life was though and needed somewhere to attach herself to make ends meet. Stella didn't completed her secondary education due to financial funds, but she could speak fluently and write like a university graduate. On several accounts, people had questioned her to know if she was a graduate. When Stella arrived Lagos, she began to sought for job but it wasn't a success. Her friend came and told her that if she gets a university degree, she will get a job in seconds because he has family friends who could link her up.
Stella told him that she doesn't have a university degree, but the man assured her and told her that she shouldn't bother, he will arrange for her a degree certificate. Soon, the certificate was ready and Stella was offered a job as a confidential secretary of a reputable company. She was highly paid and a car was attached to her with a personal driver. Soon, Stella got married and her marriage was really the talk of the town because of how famous and popular she has become. After a few years, Stella bought a land, building her personal house and the unexpected happened.
The company decided to verify the credentials of all the workers so that promotions could also be effected. A week to the screening, Stella went to her friend who assisted her in getting the degree certificate but he was no where to be found. She regretted involving herself into that mess and it was too late. It was the screening day. When Stella finally got the courage to appear for the screening, it was a matter of life and death. She presented her papers and it was clear that they were all fake credentials.
She didn't know what to do because she never attended a university education. After a week of the screening, a report came out in which she was told to resign her appointment. It was then that she knew it was good to tell the truth to avoid any unpleasant consequences. Stella quietly resigned her appointment and left the company. Stella had to live with the stigma of fake life for the rest of her life.
In Summary, let's try to live our life in a honest and truthful way, because if Stella had been honest, she wouldn't have lost her job. Another point here is that we should try to associate ourselves with friends that will benefit us in a good and sensible way. Here comes the end of my post today. Thank you for your time.. I specially invite @caringmanasseh @beevicsam @ahmneska to join this contest.
At some point i felt pity for Stella but she was actually the cause of her predicament.
Its good to be honest anyhwhere you find yourself, whether in church, work place, or anywhere at all.
All the best dear.
