Sadly today, the rate of kids that are getting involved in drug abuse is undeniably great as they increase at the rate of a geometric progression.

Many who have tried in so many ways to protect kids from drugs, as in endanger their lives have failed.
The failure is as a result of them, taking the wrong process to do so.

Due to my love for kids and my hatred for drugs, I was moved to make this enlightenment post. This post is made out of love inorder to help kids fight and curb the practice of abusing drugs.

In this blog, we will be discussing on the types of drugs that can be abused, we will also shed light on the consequences of drug abuse.

Please my fellow youth, let's try our best to desist from drugs as we are the future leaders of our world and we are mentors to the little ones.
Join me please as we fight against drug abuse.

For more understanding, I will be discussing on drugs and how it can be abused.

Drugs may be defined as chemical substances that when taken into the body, affects the metabolic functioning of the body either positively or negatively.

Drugs taken by ill patient are taken to cure the body and this affects the body positively, example of such drugs are paracetamol, procold, lumatem, ceptrine etc
These drugs performs different functions in the body.

There are also drugs that affects the body negatively, drugs like cocaine, tobacco etc affects the consciousness of the body.

Many are familiar with the use, function, and effects of positive drugs but few are aware of the effects of drug abuse.

Before proceeding to the symptoms of drug abuse, let's consider some drugs that can be abused.

DRUGS THAT CAN BE ABUSED

• COCAINE:
  Cocaine being a tropane alkaloid is a drug stimulant, manufactured from coca specie leaves named Erythroxylum novogranatense.

Molar mass	303.3g/mol

EFFECTS OF COCAINE

• Loss of appetite

• Increase sensitivity of body organs

• Over stimulation of the adrenal gland

• ALCOHOL:
  This is the most popular substance that can be abused and is mostly abused. Alcohol also known as ethanol comes in liquid form and some of it's examples are beer such as Goldberg, small stout, star etc.

Alcohols can be abused by taking too much or taking to the point of getting drunk.
We also have other drugs like

• Steroid
• Cannabis
• Caffeine etc.
  

  GENERAL SYMPTOMS OF DRUGS ABUSE

• One of the symptoms exhibited by drug abusers is that they have a violent appearance and they are usually violent in nature
• Drug abusers always suffer from lack of sleep, they are usually restless and this is termed as Insomania
• Drug abusers are always depressed, they are also known for their depression.
• Drug abusers most times suffer from allergy.
  

  CONSEQUENCES OF DRUG ABUSE

• Drug abuse leads to untimely death
• It leads to mental illness
• It makes one irresponsible in the society
• It leads to truancy for students
  

  ACTION TO REDUCE THE RATE OF DRUG ABUSE

• Public enlightenment, just like I am doing
• Ban of hard drugs
• Burn of illicit hard drugs if found
• Enactment of stiff punishment for drug abusers
• Cooperation with security agencies to fight the selling of hard drugs.
  

  CONCLUSION

  
  I sincerely appreciate the audience given to me as I shed light on the abuse of drug.
  It is also important to note that drug misuse I'd different from drug abuse.
