Greetings to all the steemians in this platform. I hope you are all doing well. I am also trying my best to be fine. Though things are tough for people in Nigeria, because right now Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) halted every government parastatal. They are going for indefinite strike, until the government gives them a good feedback to increase civil servants salary. As the situation of this country is now, bad news will just come and destabilize you.
Let me share with you how my day went.

I woke up and heard the sound of rain drizzling, checked my time, it was already past 7am. I prayed a little and then stood up and went straight to the kitchen to prepare my breakfast to eat on a Monday morning to work. I am a lover of quaker oat meal.

I started preparing my quaker by boiling water in a stainless plate, soaked the quantity of quaker i want to eat in another plate. When the water is boiled, i turn the soaked quaker into the boiling water and stir until it is done.

When the quaker is done, i put sugar and added milk, and my quaker is ready to be consumed. I sat on the floor and ate my quaker.

I got prepared and left to work. Immediately i got to the office, i signed in and set my table ready to work. I had noticed that the infinix promoter was angry and was not talking unlike her. I asked her why she was frowning, she just pointed her hand on her table. The table was filled with water down to the inside.

My shop has been licking on the roof directly where the infinix table is. And she called the attention of the shop owner to it. He did nothing about it. Today the worst happened. So the rain that fell on Saturday night and early Sunday cause the leakages.

She told me that she doesn't even know where to start cleaning. That was how i told her to bring rags that i'll help her.

I used the rag she gave me and mop the water that was inside the table, while she was cleaning the top, and the body of the table.

This is the quantity of water that i moped out of the table. Almost to fill the pale to the brim. It was so annoying, that she couldn't display her phones for today.

Nothing really happened much in the afternoon. We were all there in the office when the infinix bosses came in to check what and what did the water got spoiled in the table. There's electrical connection in the table, that blows alarm if a phone is unplugged. And also, the wire that connects the charger to the display phones on the table.

I later saw this cooked groundnut, that comes seasonally. I bought it and ate as my afternoon snacks.

I was still sitting and waiting for customers when my phone rang, the bad news came. My sister called me and told me that my uncle is dead. That i should rushed down to the house and stay with my mother. Its her younger brother that died. It was just remaining the two of them. That was how i left the office and went to the village.

When i got to the village, i saw my younger brother, he called me and told me that my mother is not yet aware, that he carried her phone so that no one will break the sad news to her on the phone. She suffers from high blood pressure, so we needed to thread with caution. This is when i got to the village.

My elder sister was already with her pretending to come and get fish and crayfish from her because she just came back from the market. So i was hiding from her, because we didn't want her to suspect anything more from what someone had already told her in the market. Which made her to come back home to call the brother and confirmed. If she sees me, she will be wondering what will bring me home and my sister as at a time like that. A workaholic like me.

Finally the brother's son that took the corpes to the mortuary came and broke the news to her. She fell on the floor and started crying bitterly. We took her inside the house and consoled her with words. And her Pastor came and also gave her some words of consolation.

I stayed there with her untill pass 7pm, before i left. I came home late with sadness in my heart. I took my bath, and carried my phone and started writing about my day. Today is really a sad day for me and my family. I pray that my mother should recover from the shock quickly and be consoled.
