Multiplication of fractions

To solve problems on multiplication of fractions, multiply all the numerators to get a new numerator and multiply all the denominators as well. Then simplify the fraction to its lowest term.

Multiplication of fractions by a whole number

The following are steps to solve multiplication of fractions by a whole number:
Step 1: Multiply the numerator by the whole number.
Step 2: Divide by the denominator.

Division of fractions

      To divide a fraction by another fraction the division sign ➗ changes to multiplication sign ✖ and the fraction at the right hand side changes to its inverse.
After that the fraction is solved as usual.
