Many kids out there think writing the formal letter is stressfull or not an easy task. Well ill not say its easy tho but its quite fun learning to write a formal letter.

Formal letter has the following parameters;

  • WRITERS ADDRESS:

This is writen at the top right corner of the paper which usually includes the writers residential address or the writers company name if he is working in an organization, the city and state he is writing from and the date of writing

  • RECIPIENTS ADDRESS:

This goes to the receiver on the other end recieving the letter. This include the recievers address startung with his/her title if any, company or residential address together with city he or she is.

  • SALUTATION:

Salutation is very necessary when writing a formal letter. This is used to show respect and maturity of the writer. "Dear Sir/Madam" is used.

  • TITLE OR HEADER ;

Title is where you write the topic of the letter about to be read. This portrays what the letter is all about. An example could be "Application For The Post of a Sales Girl" when when writing an application letter.

  • BODY:

Body of the letter is also one of the parameters where you lay detailed explanation of the letter. This is where you write everything about the letter.

  • CLOSING:

Closing a letter is important as opening it. It includes Your greetings, Yours Faithfully, Signature and Full name with title if any.

This are parameters I have given on the layout of a formal letter.

The pleasure is mine dear

I really appreciate this write-up. Many of us don't even know how to write formal letter well. So this post has really showed how letters not only formal should be arranged. Everyone whether big or small writes letters. Imagine you are of age and you're still finding it difficult to write an application letter which is formal. It would be bad and embarrassing. Kids need to start building themselves now on it because they won't escape it in their West African Examination or other examinations and even after school. Thanks for being informative.
