Introduction

Hello my fellow steemians, as I said in my last post that I am going to show you guys how to prepare "Oto Mboro", please read through and learn.
Oto Mboro is a native delicacy in Nigeria and eaten widely by many Nigerians. It is made from unripe banana which is grated into smooth paste and cooked. So you don't only eat banana as the normal fruit but it can also be used to prepare a meal, as I would show you all the recipes for the food and how it is being prepared in the next heading.

Food recipes

  • unripe banana
  • Salt
  • Maggi
  • Pepper
  • Onions
  • Crayfish
  • Fresh fish/dry fish
  • Periwinkles
  • Palmoil
  • Vegetables/scent leaves
  • Preferred seasonings
  • Water

Preparations

  • first of all, grate the unripe banana into a clean tray or basin; note that it is not a plantain but a banana so don't be mistaken.

  • wash the periwinkles thoroughly with clean water, change the water as many as possible to remove all dirt.

  • before you start the main cooking, wash the onions, pepper and the vegetables with the scent leaves and cut them.
You do this before cooking so that you don't waste time while the pot is on fire.

  • put water in the pot and cook it on the cooker, add the chopped pepper and Onions, salt, maggi, crayfish, fish and Periwinkles to the boiling water.

  • allow to boil for some minutes.

  • after that, add the grated banana into the pot, add it bit by bit, not all at once and stir thoroughly to mix evenly. Then allow to cook for some time. At this point you can add your preferred seasoning to taste.

  • after some time, you can then add the palmoil and vegetables to the oto mboro and stir it thoroughly.

  • cover the pot and cook it for some minutes

  • after some minutes of cooking when the food is done and ready to eat, you can bring the pot down from the fire and serve hot.
