All thanks to the Almighty, I was able to complete my part in the ongoing Measles immunization Implementation process carried out by the WHO. It was remaining the concluding part after the initial phase of the program that lasted for 5 days.
Like I updated you all in my last update here, I was back to base, waiting for the order to start the second phase. We were told of the extension of the mop up of the immunization for 2 days since there were some kids that were not covered in some households. If not, we were supposed to be through by Sunday. Below is the order in form of screenshot
here is the announcement that made me to move back to my place of assignment |

I received this information at night before Thursday. I had to just move that way to start my work. I was also assigned where to work as regards the wards for the 2 days.
The work schedule for my colleagues and i |

From the schedule, I had to work in ward 5 for day 1 and ward 6 for day 2.
Day 1- Endprocess
I went to Okossi which is ward 5. Then I chose 2 settlements and 4 sites. I sampled 10 kids in each of the settlements and 10 kids in each of the sites. Then I did house marking to show that I actually did the work.

Next, I filled a total of 6 forms. One each for all the activities - the 2 settlements, and 4 sites. After that, I filled a feedback form, making it 7 forms.
It was drizzling this day and as such, I couldn't take pictures of the settlements. I only managed to complete my tasks.
Day 2- Endprocess
I was assigned to work in ward 6 in Oruko. I also selected 2 different settlements and 4 sites, did house marking and then filled the forms as I did for the first day.
As for this day 2, I had an adventure to share. We were 3 that were posted in the same direction but different wards. We decided that we will trek to the place. A journey that took us an hour fifteen minutes to get to the central place there we dispersed to our various wards.
We stopped along the way when we saw a river. I went in to take a proper look at it because I love adventures. The 2 others joined me to go down the river
Upon getting to my ward, I went straight to my chosen settlements and sites and did my work as I did on day one. After filling my forms and getting my geo coordinates, I located my other colleagues and boarded bike to where I passed the night.
Both day one and two were challenging because the settlements were places we were familiar with because we worked most of those places during the inprocess. We worked independently this time around and recorded successes. We didn't have to meet with the focal person for information. The Endprocess was more like a a reconfirmation that no child was missed in the just concluded phase.
I finally bided farewell to Orue Offong Oruko LGAback to Uyo city to meet my family. I am grateful to the Almighty for guidance and protection despite the insurgency that we met there among the cultists groups. Right now, we are waiting for our stipends because we had ran all the errands with our personal money owing to the fact that Guaranteed Trust bank which the WHO operates with here in my country had upgrade issues which delayed our payments. I hope for the best!
On the overall, it was a nice experience and I enjoyed camping with my colleagues as well as moving round the wards boldly and sampling those kids. At least, I have experience that is added to my resume.
Thanks for reading through dear diary!
All pictures are mine!
