What do you understand by compassion?

Compassion in my own understanding is the desire to relieve someone's needs by providing solutions to their needs.

Who can show it and why?

Everyone can show compassion because Just as we would love to get a compassionate treat from someone when we are in need there is also a need to show compassion to people around us when they are in need.

Have you shown someone compassion, how did you do that and how did the recipient feel?

Yes I have shown someone compassion before. I provided financial support to a friend that didn't have money to settle her hospital bills. Before the time she fell ill and got admitted in the hospital her salary was already being deducted every month because of the loan she took from the bank to solve her needs. So she was left with almost nothing every month to even take care of herself and her hospital bills. I had compassion on her and supported her with the little money she had to settle her bills. My friend was very grateful to me for supporting her and she blessed me with her kind words.

Has anyone shown you compassion before and how did you feel when it was shown to you?

Yes! So many times. But one remarkable one that made me wonder why I was showered with so much compassion was by an old friend and I never believed that my needs would have been solved at that time by an old time friend that i've long forgotten. I was sober in heart and today I so much value my relationship with this friend of mine.

Express your compassion to someone in a practical way.

Giving a satchet of water to a thirsty kid that couldn't locate where her mother was seated in church today made her very happy again.

Do you think compassion is a virtue that should be cultivated by all and be demonstrated in a practical way?

Yes I think this virtue called compassion should be cultivated and demonstrated practically by everyone.

How did you learn to show compassion and where?

I learnt how to show compassion during my university days when my roommate's friend had no mattress to sleep on and because I had one extra mattress I offered to help her out till she's able to buy her own mattress. This happened in my lodge during my university days in school.

How will the world look like if everyone cultivates this quality?

The world will be filled with people who watch each others back, who have each other at heart and are willing to be each others brother's keeper.

Conclusion

Showing compassion to people does not only entail saying mere words that you care about their needs but going out of your way to provide solutions to their needs. The fulfillment that comes with showing compassion to others is nothing compared to none.

I wish to invite @chikelly19, @padosky and @lukec to join this contest.

Regards,

Nice one dear. It is good to be good. God bless you for that very child you provided with a sachet water.

That water was so needed by that kid and I she blessed you in her heart.

Keep it up
