What constitutes a gift?

A gift can be defined as anything given to a person cheerfully or voluntarily not warranting a repayment of any sort. This sort of giving is not as a result of request made by the recipient nor did he do any work to earn it.

This gift can be in various forms. It could be in the form of a kindness or favour shown to someone. It could also be a well-meaning advice or a financial assistance.

The definition above suits its meaning in the context in which we are discussing about it.

What is the best gift a child can receive.

I know that what comes to people's mind will be things like toys, chocolate, bicycles and some other playfully items usually demanded by kids.

However, I believe that the greatest gift you can give your child is helping your child develop into a compassionate, sound, reasonable and trustworthy person in adulthood.

These are qualities rarely seen in today's world which do seriously have a positive impact on families, communities and the country at large.

What gifts have you given to a child in the past or what gifts do you think you can give if you are in the position to do so? If you are a kid, what gifts have you received from someone?

I have been able to give out gifts to newborn children and other little one of 1 to 5 years. When friends of mine gives birth to a new child, I usually buy diapers, detergents, bathing soap, powders for the little child.

For those that have grown a little, I used to buy chocolates, sweets, biscuits , fanciful cloths and sometimes footwears.

As a kid, I received gifts basically from my parents, gifts like new cloths, shoes, bags, sweets and toys.

What is the value of the gift in your local currency and in steem if it can be valued?

These are just the price for a semi good grades of the above mentioned gift items. You can see that they are quite expensive. Gifts that are not expensive in my country are thing like sweets and biscuits, depending on the type anyway.

What is the right motive for giving a gift?

The primary motive for giving a gift is Love. The desire to make someone happy and feel appreciated. For our gift to be truly a gift, we need not expect reciprocation from the recipient of our gift.

Must a gift have a financial value before it can be given or received?

No. Not all gifts given are tangible or physical in nature in order to have value. Some can be in the way of moral advice or physical and mental assistance. These kind of gifts can not be quantified financially.

How does a recipient of a gift feel?

There is this flow of joy, satisfaction, excitement and surprise when a person receives an unexpected gift. The individual feels very happy and belonged, knowing that there are people who actually cares for him.

Giving of gift is a source of joy and happiness that knows no bounds, especially when it is done with the right motive. Even a popular saying buttresses this point when it says there is more happiness in giving there is in receiving.
