Introduction
Hello to all the kids in the house. Its another day to present another lesson to you.The weekly lesson is indeed a way of keeping our minds active and engaged.Lets continue with the good work.
This week we shall look at the topic Addition of Fractions. The topic needs a good knowledge of LCM of Numbers which I taught earlier on.
Addition of Fractions
Fraction simply means part of a whole. For example if i divide an orange into two equal parts. Each part is designated 1/2.If I divide it into 4 parts, then each part is designated 1/4. In general, fraction is always the required portion all over the total portion.
Fraction=(required portion/Total portion)
Examples of fraction are 1/2,3/4,5/8,1/8 etc
Addition of Fractions
Addition of Fractions means adding two fractions together. To do this. One have to find the LCM of the denominators. After finding the LCM of the denominators, use each denominator to divide the LCM and multiply the result with the numerator of that particular fraction. Finally affix the addition sign and finish up.
This video is a proper guide on how to add fractions.👇

Now let's see some practical examples.Remember the video above will make the explanation much more easier.Make sure to see the video.
Examples
1.) Evaluate 3/4 + 1/8
I have explained the procedure via the video above
2.) Evaluate 1/3 + 2/5
Use the procedure as explained in the video
3.) Evaluate 3/4 + 5/4
Use the procedure as explained in the video
4.) Evaluate 5/6 + 3/4
Use the procedure as explained in the video
