Introduction

Family bonding are those period in our lives, when we create out time to be with the family, to catch up on what you’ve been missing out on everyone’s live , to have fun and laugh. You see this more often during family get together, or family dinners etc. This family bonding foster love amongst the family members and serve as a foundation for strength and unity.

In this contest that was hosted by @uzma4882 , we’ll be sharing some of this core values that unite family bonding but before going ahead , let’s make welcome as we invite some distinguish guests to contest. @bossj23, @lovelystar and @roselove.

Core values that unites family bonding

There are several values that unites family bonding and I’ll be writing on few of them.

• Love

Love is one of such values that unites family bonding because it creates a foundation of trust within the family.when there is love in a family, there is this atmosphere of trust between each other and they feel very comfortable opening up whatever issues they are going through in school, work and amongst friends.

For example, is on rare occasions you see kids open up to their parents about their sex live. A lot of us find it weird including myself and as a result , we have had multiple cases of teenage pregnancy and some lives have also been ruined because they opt for abortions.

But a child who feels loved and secured at home will confide in their parents and share whatever problems they are going through knowing fully well that their parents are active listeners, won’t be judged harshly or rejected and will provide all the care and attention needed.

• Respect

Respect is a fundamental aspect that significantly enhances family bonding. As we often say, “respect is reciprocal”. When family learns to respect each others point of views, differences and space, there will be less chaos or quarrel among family members and this will strengthen the family bonds.

For example, in Nigeria, imagine a pastor / sheikh that has been grooming his kids to work in the way of God, so they can take over his church or mosque and one of them decided to choose a different career path to be a “porn star”. Your parents will forget that they are pastors and would want to commit murder for tarnishing their image… lol.

But if family members learn to respect each other’s privacy or differences, Conflicts will be resolved easily by finding a middle ground and compromising when needed. This will foster unity and inclusivity that will help the family members to bond even more.

• Honesty

Honesty is the bedrock of trust in any family because it maintains transparency and a healthy relationship. If your parents and siblings are honest in expressing their thoughts, feelings and concern, it build a sense of reliability and dependability among everyone.

Let’s say for instance, the family is having a financial crisis and parents are honest enough to communicate the issues they are going through at the moment without hiding any scandal or the kids having to hear the stories from friends, this will encourage open conversations among family members in other for them to find a solution to whatever crisis they are going through.

When honesty is been held at high esteem among family members, the foundation of integrity and trust is unshakable.

• Compassion.

Imagine a family without compassion for one another, even if a family member of yours is in dire need you won’t care. Compassion is needed in every family to keep them together because it creates emotional support and encouragement in times of trouble. When family shows compassion and care for one another, it shapes the family dynamics.
