Hello, good day everyone @steemkids, I hope you're all doing great. As it is said that parents are the first agent of socialization but is that the case these days? As parents, what are the things that are expected of us? Find all these out in:

When I look at our world today and I see the recent happenings, the question which comes to mind is; is the end time near? Children of nowadays (the youths), are the ones that are mostly involved in all sorts of abnormalities found in our world today, we now have youths engaging themselves in drugs abuse, addiction and all sorts of immoral acts. Why is that? One of the major factors and the most significant of them all is the fact that parents are neglectful of their duties and responsibilities.
Responsible parenthood: this is the ability of the parents to take good care of their children, raise them with uprightness, teach them morals and Etiquette of living a good life. But the reverse is the case these days, most parents nowadays do not really care about the well-being of their children, maybe due to work. As parents, spending most of your hours in a day with your wards shouldn't be a problem because most times, parents are the ones who shape the future of their children. When children spend time with their parents, it is in what they see in their parents that they put to practice; and as a matter of fact, children take almost 60% of their parents behaviour.
Furthermore, one of the mistakes that some parents do is that they don't admonish their little ones when they do things wrong, instead they consider such wrongdoings as normals, unknown to them that if such acts are not corrected in time, it may jeopardize the future of their children and may even threaten their existence on earth. Imagine a child who steals as he grows up, he may end up becoming an armed robber which I'm pretty sure that no good parents would pray for such.
But, be that as it may, some parents used to take it to the extremes: they scold, punish, beat, torture and even do things that are cruel to their children because of their children's behaviour. As a parent, there should be limits to how a child should be handled, they aren't animals and they shouldn't be treated as such. If parents are too harsh on their wards, they might grow up to become something else because of the kinds of punishment they've passed through at a very young age, they wouldn't want to fear anything again and a person who isn't afraid of anything can do anything at anytime.
Nevertheless, when parents see strange things in their children's behaviours, it is their responsibility to let them know what they've done and why they're being punished; lighter but effective punishment should be given. But then, it's not every time that a child should be punished, sometimes what he or she needs is G&C. If parents can't help in that aspect, they can call upon a well qualified guardian and counsellor to help.
In conclusion, responsible parenthood is not limited to buying what a child needs for him or her but it is expected of all parents to make sure they are bringing up future-ones that'll be better than the past generations; children who would grow up to be better people, who'd grow up to build us a better-future and a better world.
