Welcome to my blog! Today I am participating in the engagement challenge about freedom. As we all know freedom is necessary and we all need to be free.

What do you understand to be freedom as a parent or kid?

As a parent, I understand freedom to mean the power or right to a person has to act, speak, or think as him or her wants.
This act of doing things, thinking, and acting can include "freedom of choice. "
This freedom of choice will mean allowing the person to make some choices for him or herself, it can be in the area of dressing, entertainment, food, school etc.

What can make you grant more freedom to your kids, or what can you do to earn more freedom?

For me to grant my children freedom, they will have to show me by their word and action that they will not misuse the freedom. They will have to work hard to earn my trust and also proof to be that their freedom will be used wisely.

I will use the child's past actions and present to judge if him or her should be granted freedom.

I will also observe they way my child respond to wrong doings. Does him or her support wrong doings, or she she detest them.
What is her motive towards wrong doing? Can she distinguish between right and wrong?
Who are his friends? What are the characters of his or her friends?

The answers I will get to these questions and the rest will determine if I should grant my child free or not.

Advantages and disadvantages of freedom both to parents and kids

It is true that everything that has advantages must surely have disadvantages.

The following are advantages of freedom to parents:

When parents grant freedom to their kids, they will

• Have less to worry about
• Have fewer decisions to make since their kids are now free to decide for themselves.

Advantages of freedom to kids

• Freedom brings happiness
• Freedom allows an individual to express himself
• Freedom allows one to make choices and also enjoy his good choice

Let also talk about the disadvantages of freedom to parents and kids

To parents

• Kids can bring shame to them if they misuse their freedom.
• They may have sleepless night thinking about the consequences of their kid's actions.
• They can be hurt and frustrated by their children's actions

To kids

• They can be misled by bad associations
• Some kids misused their freedom to live an immoral life
• It can bring shame to parents if the
• It can lead to uncontrolled emotions.

What can cause one to lose the freedom he or she has?

One can lose his or her freedom when the person misuses it.
A lot of people misuse their freedom, and as a result of that, such freedom is taken from the person.
If a child misuses the freedom given to him by the parents, such freedom will be terminated, and the child will start to experience restrictions again as he is not using his freedom wisely.

Incompetence can make one lose his freedom.
When the person makes bad choices and decisions, his freedom will be taken away from him as he is not competent with the freedom given to him.

Bad associations can also make anyone lose his freedom as they will not lead him to living a good life. So a person's lifestyle can make him or her lose his freedom.

Why is freedom necessary?

Freedom is necessary. Just imagine yourself still deciding for an adult the type of clothes he should wear and how to do little things.
We need to be free to do things for ourselves at some point in life because life will be boring if still being decided for. Life without freedom will be too restrictive, and a lot of people will want to break free by force.

Freedom is necessary because we need to express ourselves and also enjoy life.

It is true that too much freedom can lead to danger, but one has to be free at some point in life.
