In this essay, you will get to know what education is, its relevance to children, the best age children can acquire education and the new steps adopted into the educational system of my society. Behaviourist psychologists believe that the average child comes into the world as a tabula rasa. This implies that a newborn's mind is an empty slate to be written on. Thus, learning becomes essential. Children get to learn the language[s] of their immediate environment, cultures and norms, then acquire the western form of education, as the case may be.

Education involves the art of acquiring knowledge, skills and experience. It is exclusively for human beings and is usually earned in two forms:

• Formal education
• Informal education

In formal education, people learn in a special environment which could be a classroom setting or virtual learning environment. It has an organized structure where students are conferred with a certificate on completing their course of study. On the other hand, informal education is obtained in a natural setting. Parents get to pass down their beliefs, train the children in lifelong skills and inculcate social values in them.

These forms of education are sometimes determined by age, gender and society. Although children learn from the moment they take their first breath, formal education begins between the first 6 months to 5 years old of their lives. Children get to learn what society considers relevant. An example is the western form of education embraced by Christians and the Islam tradition practised by Muslims.

Since learning promotes growth and development, children are trained to become critical thinkers, hence, proferring solutions to human problems when need be.

In the present-day, tech-related courses like graphic design, coding, crypto and IT support have been incorporated into the formal educational system. This is a result of age and trends. In the process, some patterns of learning have gone obsolete and more innovative pedagogical methods have been adopted.
